Assalamu Alaikum friends, wildlife sustains the country's biodiversity. There were once many animals in Bangladesh, which are now only heard of by people, in reality it is difficult to see them. Today I once created a fear of entering human habitations, but now leopards are not even found in the forest. It is one of the few tiger species that is very fast and predatory. Today I invite you @waterjoe @bonaventure24 @jyoti-thelight @wilmer1988 to my country's protected animals part 7 hosted by @steem.ofanimals.

Exact number of leopards According to 2018 data of Bangladesh Forest Department there are 20+ leopards. Sometimes one or two come across the border of India in our region in search of prey, but humans are lower than animals and beat these animals to death. Leopards come from a large species of cat family.

Not only leopards but also other wildlife many animals cannot sustain their existence due to lack of sanctuaries. The rate at which wild forests have begun to decline due to human greed has resulted in once-abundant animals being endangered in Bangladesh today. Leopards are becoming endangered today due to food shortages and habitat loss and killing by humans. Another major reason for the decline of leopards is that a large proportion of the cubs are eaten by carnivores such as lions and wild dogs, thus reducing their range. This leopard is on the endangered species list of Bangladesh today which is in a list published by IUCN that leopards from Bangladesh are endangered. If we do not protect forests and raise awareness among people, other animals will also become endangered very quickly.

Hunting, killing, harvesting and trading of wild animals is against the law but people are hunting these animals by avoiding the eyes of the law due to greed of interest. The Bangladesh Wildlife Act 2012 states that agriculture cannot destroy the habitats of animals and that no industry can be set up so as not to disturb the habitat of animals. No dumping of harmful substances into wildlife habitats. 14(1) Shall not detonate arson chemicals, ammunition or any loud noise bomb intended to frighten animals. Whoever violates this section 14 shall be considered as a criminal and shall be punished with imprisonment for two years or with fine up to 1 lakh rupees or with both.

28(1) Prohibition of import and export including harvesting and sale of wild animals. However, the law states that it is not an offense to attack a wild animal and hit it to escape and the animal dies.
