Covid 19 as we all know was and is still a great terror in the world today. It has claimed millions and millions of innocent lives all around the world and both different governments and individuals have taken strict steps in maintaining cleanliness so as not to get infected with the virus.

However in my country Nigeria which is located in west Africa as well as other African countries, we were not affected much by the virus when compared to other european countries that kept loosing people by the hundreds of thousands every day. So far we have a total of 2,016 deaths, 154,441 persons discharged, and 164,488 as the total confirmed. In a country of over 200million people. If i were asked? i would say my country Nigeria wasn't affected much by the virus because i didn't see any body sick and non of my friends, enemies, and family relation in Nigeria was affected, many of us still believe that the cases mentioned above were rumors to make it look like we were suffering too. Though it dealt greatly with my relations overseas. I lost 3 uncles and one of my favorite aunties to the virus, and their corpse wasn't released to us so we could bury the proper way in fear of the virus spreading.

Meanwhile i recommend the government for the immediate steps of action they took during the period to prevent the spread of the virus. They banned international flights, nobody could leave or come into the country. They locked the inter-state borders, no body within the country could travel to a different state. This really affected everyone because it made food scarce. I remember i certain day that period when a bread delivery van that was on its way to deliver to customers was accosted by the youths, they attacked the van and took away all the bread loaves in it. During that period in my country, you dare not walk around with food stuff because then, food was more valuable than money.

The next thing the govt did was to close churches and schools, banned every form of social gathering including burials and weddings. This caused lots of havoc for the ladies intending to get married. It also opened the eyes of many men to see the true character of their brides and vice-versa. The government made the wearing of face mask compulsory, if you were caught without one, you would the arrested. The made sure every institution such as banks, market places and other public locations maintained social distancing they also provided heat regulation devices to detect those with fever and made it compulsory the use of hand sanitizers and gloves. They also made sure every shop had i bucket of water, liquid soap and hand sanitizers.

Lastly they distributed food supplies to families and also sent some credit alerts to its citizens to help them survive. Right now in my country Nigeria, we all move freely despite the 2nd wave because somehow, its miraculously not affecting us. But the government still makes sure our institutions maintain the wearing of face masks and hand gloves and also the use of hand sanitizers though they have eased up a bit with the social distancing and regular wearing of nose masks. Our schools, churches and public places are all in full swing.
