Contest:My favorite vegetable

Good day beautiful people of steem health. Hope you all are doing great this morning.
I will like to share with you all my favorite vegetable. I enjoy eating carrots that is why I choose it as my favorite vegetable.

       Carrots are classified as root vegetables,it is mostly in orange colour though we have other colors like white, red and purple but the orange colour is the most commonest. Nutritionist found out that carrots contain  about 90% of water that is why it aids in digestion. 3 to 5 sticks of carrots contain 25 calories,3 grams of sugar  and 6 grams of carbohydrates.

      Carrots is a good source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamins as we all know aids in digestion of food, boost the immune system and helps in norishing the body.  Due to the fiber content in carrots and the sugar present in carrots, it energizes the body and can serve as a meal. Carrots is also used making salad which is taken with mayonnaise . 
  Carrots when taken alone provides the most nutritional content. Carrots are rich in beta carotene and we know that beta carotene is what protects the eyes from sun and help in reducing eye problems. Carrots also have anti aging property that is it contains collagen which stretches the skin thereby removing wrinkles. A person who likes eating junks , drinking  alcohol e.tc. can be taking carrot juice early in the body in order to detoxify and cleanse the system  so it can make the body healthy. Carrots helps in weight loss,reduces risk of cancer and heart diseases.

   My second favorite vegetable is 'Ugu' leaf commonly known as pumpkin leaf. Ugu leaf is a healthy food rich in nutrients and compounds that control blood sugar level.
Ugu can be used in preparing varieties of foods like, African' Egusi' soup, stew, porridge yam ,okro soup, it can be fried with egg and eaten with bread, yam sauce e.t.c. 

'Ugu' leaf contains beta carotene that helps to protect the eyes from diseases. It also contains vitamin E, iron and folate. It also help to boost the immune system, heals wound faster and build strong teeth and bones.
I will like you all to have a taste of Ugu' leaf and also learn to eat carrots in order to enjoy all these benefits from it.
