THE DIARY GAME: JULY 2,2024 | DAY 1 IN NATIONAL LEARNING CAMP

Children learn best when it is interactive.

_{July 2,2024 National Learning Camp}

Dear Diary,

Today is the first class of the National Learning Camp. Learning Camp is a program in our educational system that helps the learner to refresh their learnings before the school year starts. There are three days in a week of a face to face interactive class. The pupils are classified into 3 categories;

• Intervention
• Consolidation
• Enhancement

I teach in the Consolidation pupils wherein I will teach 4.5 hours per day divided by Reading and Mathematics. Today, I have 18 pupils out of 35 listed.

NATIONAL LEARNING CAMP DAY 1

REGISTRATION OF THE LEARNERS

First thing in the morning, when the pupils arrived before 8:00, the parents must fill out registration forms of the pupils and a parent consent. Without these documents, the pupils will not be enrolled in learning camp. At 8:05, I started my lesson.

INTRODUCTION OF THE CLASS

We started with a prayer through a video presentation and an early exercise. Since it is the first day of the camp, I assessed their prior knowledge through an interactive diagnostic.

PROPER LESSON

In the morning, the schedule is for reading. I presented first syllabic words. There are pupils who forget some lessons from their prior grade and refreshed it when we have it discussed now. We have some action song, interactive activities and last activity before taking their lunch is by reading them one by one.

We stopped at 11:30am for the lunch break. We resumed at 1:00pm for the Mathematics.

I also conducted a diagnostic assessment through boardwork. I assessed them one by one on basic counting and familiarizing numbers. I used multimedia to give more art in the lesson.

For the last part in mathematics before the dismissal, I called them one by one in the board to point out the numbers. We stopped on 1-50. Later on the parents came to fetch their children and we dismissed at 3:00 in the afternoon.

COLLABORATION WITH TEACHERS

After the class, before we going home, we had a small discussion on how our day went with the pupils. We had shared strategies and experience so we can have ideas on every situation we had.
At 4:30 we went home.
