One of the things we usually do to quickly assess a user's engagement level, aside from looking at whether they've grown in SP and are engaged at least in Club5050, is to look at their voting history, at least the last 7 days.

Did you know how important it is that we use our voting power? As I've said in other posts, voting is what turns the wheels of the system.

But so that this is not a boring post, full of numbers and accounts, I was thinking about how to approach it, so I will go straight to the point, and it occurred to me that the most interesting part is answering this question:

What do I gain by voting for others?

Well, I will focus on giving you the answer: Every time we make vows we can earn rewards for curation. And these are earned at any time, not only by voting between minutes 4 and 5, but we can earn rewards by voting for posts that are up to 6 days and 12 hours old, that's the limit. The big detail is in this: We will earn more as long as that post also earns more, that is, if the post becomes a trending post.

We will always win to the extent that the selected publication also receives rewards. To the extent that a publication gains more in curation, the rewards will be greater for everyone. Hence the importance of selecting quality content.

The system is designed so that those who discover potentially valuable content get the most rewards, but also rewards for voting later.

Now I will show you a brief illustration about what I have told you.

Example 1

We know that a user with 500 SP can regulate his percentage of votes, but if he does not regulate it, he can cast up to 10 votes per day, which means 70 votes per week.

We have example number 1, this user has 587 SP, and has cast 70 votes to 41 different accounts in the last 7 days.

The tool at https://steemworld.org/ shows it like this:

This user is doing the task that corresponds to him because he is using his weekly quota of votes, 70 votes in a week, which can be 10 daily votes.

Now I will show you your curation rewards that you will have for this week. We can see that this week 0.744 SP is being calculated, which is approximately equivalent to 0.27 USD.

Its efficiency is approximately 28%, this refers to its ability to hit publications that have become a trend, the higher the percentage of efficiency, the higher the rewards for curation will also be. But here I want to focus on your rewards.

And this is a user with 587 STEEM POWER.

If we go up the STEEM POWER, and we review this same Curation Rewards data we will see how the figure rises considerably, we will see this next.

Example 2

Here we have a user with 5,314.34 STEEM POWER. We can see that he is also making good use of his voting power as he has cast 80 votes, to 55 different accounts in the last 7 days.

We can see this in the https://steemworld.org/ tool:

In the Curation rewards we can see what this person will be able to get: 7,815 SP, which is equivalent to approximately 2.83 USD in the week. If we multiply this by 4 we will see that in a month it could be a total of more or less than 31.26 SP. Let's remember that if the price of Steem goes up, the rewards are also higher, also your rewards will be higher if those items continue to receive more rewards.

I want to emphasize that this publication was born in order to see that many users do not use their voting power.

If you have doubts about how to vote, or do not know how to select publications, you can follow these tips:

What you can do when voting:

• Select publications that reflect usefulness, quality and originality.

• Check that the publications meet the requirements of citing sources in the photos, as well as in texts that are not their own.

• Support recently published content that, due to its quality, can become trending articles. These give higher rewards if discovered within the first 5 minutes.

• You can also support trending posts of your choice, these posts also give curation rewards, you can vote up to 6 days and 12 hours after posting.

• You can also delegate your SP to communities of your choice to support quality content curation with your SP.

• Join curation routes (Trail) of the communities of your choice.

What you must not do when Voting:

• Do not self-vote. This is not positive for your image, it is like starting to eat the chocolates that you were going to share at a party.

• Do not give negative votes. Downvotes do exist but they only happen in specific cases, and they carry a commitment as well, so if you're not sure how to use them, it's best not to give them.

• Do not think that by voting you are giving away something of yours, by voting you are only making use of your quota to distribute part of the pool of rewards.

• Do not give votes to expired publications. Posts can be voted on up to 6 days and 12 hours after they are created, after which their validity to receive curation rewards has expired.

Conclution

Voting for a publication in Steemit is a privilege and a responsibility, we have a privilege because we have the ability, according to our STEEM POWER, to distribute more or less of the rewards that are generated daily in the reward pool. And we can bring those rewards with our vote to a selected item.

We have a responsibility to select quality articles, since to that extent we will support existing talent and the creation of good content.

By doing a good job by voting for good content, we will eventually be receiving the rewards.

Pero para que esta no sea una publicación aburrida, llena de números y cuentas, estuve pensando en cómo enfocarla, así que iré directamente al grano, y se me ocurrió que la parte más interesante es responder a esta pregunta:

¿Qué gano con votar a otros?

Pues me enfocare en darte la respuesta: Cada vez que hacemos votos podemos ganar recompensas por curación. Y estas se ganan en cualquier momento, no solo al votar entre el minuto 4 y 5, sino que podemos ganar recompensas al votar publicaciones que tengan una antigüedad de hasta 6 días y 12 horas, ese es el límite. El gran detalle esta en esto: Ganaremos más siempre y cuando esa publicación también gane más, es decir si la publicación se convierte en una publicación en tendencia.

Siempre ganaremos en la medida que la publicación seleccionada también reciba recompensas. En la medida que una publicación gane más en curación, las recompensas serán mayores para todos. De allí la importancia de seleccionar contenidos de calidad.

El sistema esta diseñado para que quienes descubran el contenido potencialmente valioso, se lleven las mayores recompensas, pero, además también se obtienen recompensas al votar tiempo después.

Ahora les mostraré una breve ilustración acerca de lo que les he comentado.

Ejemplo 1

Sabemos que un usuario con 500 SP puede regular su porcentaje de votos, pero de no regularlo puede emitir hasta 10 votos diarios, lo que significa 70 votos por semana.

Tenemos el ejemplo número 1, esta usuaria tiene 587 de SP, y ha emitido 70 votos a 41 cuentas distintas los últimos 7 días.

La herramienta en https://steemworld.org/ lo muestra así:

Este usuario esta haciendo la tarea que le corresponde pues esta utilizando su cupo semanal de votos, 70 votos en una semana, lo que pueden ser 10 votos diarios.

Ahora les mostrare sus recompensas de curación que tendra para esta semana. Podemos ver que esta semana se va calculando 0.744 SP, lo que equivale aproximadamente a 0.27 USD.

Su eficiencia es del 28% aproximadamente, esto se refiere a su capacidad de atinar a publicaciones que se han convertido en tendencia, a mayor porcentaje de eficiencia, sus recompensas por curación también serán mayores. Pero aquí me quiero enfocar en sus recompensas.

Y este es un usuario con 587 de STEEM POWER.

Si vamos subiendo el STEEM POWER, y revisamos estos mismos datos de Recompensas de Curación veremos como la cifra sube considerablemente, esto lo veremos a continuación.

Ejemplo 2

Aquí tenemos a un usuario con 5,314.34 de STEEM POWER. Podemos ver que también esta haciendo un buen uso de su poder de voto ya que ha emitido 80 votos, a 55 cuentas diferentes los últimos 7 días.

Esto lo podemos observar en la herramienta de https://steemworld.org/:

En las recompensas de curación podemos ver lo que esta persona podrá obtener: 7.815 SP, que equivale aproximadamente a 2.83 USD en la semana. Si multiplicamos esto por 4 veremos que en un mes podría ser un total más o menos de 31.26 SP. Recordemos que si el precio del Steem sube, las recompensas también son mayores. Sus recompensas serán mayores si esos artículos siguen recibiendo más recompensas.

Quiero recalcar que esta publicación nace con motivo de ver que muchos usuarios no utilizan su poder de voto.

Si tienes dudas acerca de cómo votar, o no sabes cómo seleccionar publicaciones, puedes seguir estos tips:

Lo que puedes hacer al votar:

• Seleccionar publicaciones que reflejen utilidad, calidad y originalidad.

• Fijate que las publicaciones cumplan con los requisitos de citar fuentes en las fotos, así como en textos que no sean propios.

• Apoyar contenido recién publicado que por su calidad pueden convertirse en artículos en tendencia. Estos dan mayores recompensas si son descubiertos entre los primeros 5 minutos.

• Puedes también apoyar publicaciones en tendencia de tu preferencia, estas publicaciones también otorgan recompensas de curación, se pueden votar hasta los 6 días y 12 horas de publicadas.

• Puedes también delegar tu SP a las comunidades de tu preferencia para apoyar la curación de contenidos de calidad con tu SP.

• Unirte a rutas de curación (Trail) de las comunidades de tu preferencia.

Lo que no debes hacer al Votar:

• No te auto-votes. Esto no es positivo para tu imagen, es como empezar a comerse los chocolates que ibas a compartir en una fiesta.

• No des votos negativos. Los votos negativos existen pero solo se dan en casos específicos, y conllevan un compromiso también, así que de no estar seguros de como usarlos, es mejor no darlos.

• No creas que al votar estas regalando algo tuyo, al votar solo estas haciendo uso de tu cupo para distribuir parte de la piscina de recompensas.

• No des votos a publicaciones vencidas. Las publicaciones se pueden votar hasta los 6 días y 12 horas de creadas, luego de eso ha expirado su vigencia para recibir recompensas por curación.

Conclusión

Votar por una publicación en Steemit es un privilegio y es una responsabilidad, tenemos un privilegio pues tenemos la capacidad de acuerdo a nuestro STEEM POWER, de distribuir mayor o menor cantidad de las recompensas que se generan diariamente en la piscina de recompensas. Y podemos llevar esas recompensas con nuestro voto a un artículo seleccionado.

Tenemos la responsabilidad de seleccionar artículos de calidad, ya que en esa medida apoyaremos el talento existente y la creación de buen contenido.

Al hacer una buena tarea al votar buen contenido, eventualmente estaremos recibiendo las recompensas.
