How to Utilize Sweet Potatoes for Cake Filling or Jam ๐ ๐ ๐
This recipe is inspired by my situation which has a lot of sweet potato supplies. So I decided to use sweet potatoes for cake filling or for jam.
The taste of sweet potato paste is sweet, but you can not use sugar in this recipe if you don't like it sweet or for a sugar diet.
Ingredients
- 200 grams of sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons of glutinous rice flour
- A pinch of salt
- 50 ml of water
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil or coconut oil
How to make
- Step 1
Prepare sweet potatoes. Then peel and cut into small pieces.
- Step 2
Boil sweet potatoes with pandan leaf, or you can replace it with enough vanilla powder to give a fragrant aroma.
- Step 3
Drain the boiled sweet potatoes.
- Step 4
Mix boiled sweet potatoes with sugar, glutinous rice flour, water and salt. Then blend until smooth. You can use a blender or food processor or just by manually motion with fork.
- Step 6
Transfer the sweet potato mixture to a non-stick pan. Then add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.
- Step 7
Cook the sweet potato mixture for 15 minutes while continuing to stir.
- Step 8
Remove and cool sweet potato paste. Can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks supply.
You can use sweet potato paste as a filling for various types of cakes, even for baked pastries, or for stuffing bun.
