Culinary Сontest | Curry Pakora ( Curry Fritters)
I am Afifa Noor from Pakistan and today I'm participating in Culinary Сontest organised by @mariam.dariam. and the recipe I am going to share is Curry Fritters .it's our traditional Dish We call it 'Curry Pakora' in our native Language.
Here are the ingredients:
- 1 large onion
- 1 large tomato
- 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
- 1-2 tablespoons red chili powder
- 1-2 tablespoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 3-4 curry leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder (optional)
- 1/2 KG yogurt
- 3 or 4 Tablespoon Gram flour
Let's start preparing the dish. First, cover your hair and wash your hands thoroughly. Then, heat oil in a pot and add chopped onions. Cook until they turn golden brown.Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for another minute.
Then add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.Add all the spices and a little water and cook well. When the masala is cooked,
When the masala is cooked, add gram flour and yogurt mixture and stir well. Add 3 cups of water and mix well. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes. The longer it cooks, the tastier it becomes. But be careful not to make it too thick.
Now, let's prepare the pakora ( Fritters) . For this, we need:
- 1 cup gram flour
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed coriander
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 teaspoon black pepper
- Chopped fresh coriander
Mix all the ingredients together and add a little water to make a paste. The consistency should be neither too thick nor too thin.
Let it rest for 3-4 minutes. Then, heat oil in a fry pan and add the pakora mixture. Cook until golden brown on both sides.
When the pakoras ( Fritters) are ready, Add the pakoras to the curry they taste amazing in the curry too! and let it simmer for 4-5 minutes on slow heat. Finally, take the same fry pan where we made the pakoras Add curry leaves and half a teaspoon of cumin seeds (zira) to the oil and let it sizzle for 2 seconds. Then, pour it over the curry. Our delicious Curry Pakora is ready!
You can serve this dish with Bread And also with Boiled salty Rice.
