Пасхальна символіка/ Easter symbolism (Ua/En)

Привіт всім у спільноті.
Вже цієї неділі католики будуть відзначати одне з найбільших християнських свят – Світле Воскресіння Господнє. Цього року між датами святкування православних та католицьких вірян досить значна різниця. В Україні це буде 5 травня.
Завжди цікавило, як так виходить, що одна й таж подія відзначається в різні дати? Виявляється, що церква вираховує дату Пасхи за різними календарями. Це світле свято припадає на першу неділю після повного місяця, після весняного рівнодення. Православні віряни спираються на юліанський календар, а католики – на григоріанський.
Та не лише датами святкування різниться Воскресіння Господа між країнами та народами. Це абсолютно різні традиції та символіка. У нас, українців, невід’ємним атрибутом в цей день є обрядовий хліб паска та крашанки з писанками. В католиків традиційними є зайці та шоколадні яєчка. Для мене це якось дивно та зовсім не поєднувано. У неділю діти шукають «сліди» пасхального зайчика чи кролика. Він приносить малечі шоколадні яйця. Хоча до чого яйця і заєць, що їх може поєднувати? Виявляється ця традиція сягає корінням у часи античності. Тоді вважали кроликів, зайців священними і прославляли за їх плодючість. В свою чергу – яйце символ початку та збереження життя. На Воскресіння Господа всі бажають одне одному здоров’я та примноження достатку і вірять, що подарунок у формі зайчика з шоколаду чи марципану та яєчка можуть допомогти у досягненні цих бажань.
І хоча дана традиція для мене досить незвична, не можу не поголитися, що вона дуже мила. Адже всі домівки прикрашені прегарними зайчатами та кольоровими яєчками. Магазини пропонують різноманітну пасхальну атрибутику. Особливо мені подобаються вазони у з квітами, прикрашені кроликами та крашанками. При чому вся ця різноманітність ось вже 2 місяці на полицях всіх крамниць, та й будинки прикрашені досить давно.
Попри різницю в датах святкування та символах свята, я вважаю, що необхідно поважати традиції людей, між якими живеш, хоча і маєш трішки іншу віру.

This Sunday, Catholics will celebrate one of the greatest Christian holidays - the Holy Resurrection of the Lord. This year, there is a significant difference between the dates of celebration for Orthodox and Catholic believers. In Ukraine, it will be on 5 May.
I have always wondered how it is that the same event is celebrated on different dates? It turns out that the church calculates the date of Easter according to different calendars. This bright holiday falls on the first Sunday after the full moon, after the vernal equinox. Orthodox believers rely on the Julian calendar, while Catholics use the Gregorian calendar.
But it is not only the dates of the celebration that differ between countries and peoples. These are completely different traditions and symbols. For us, Ukrainians, the ritual bread of Easter and Easter eggs are an integral part of this day. For Catholics, hares and chocolate eggs are traditional. For me, this is somehow strange and not at all compatible. On Sunday, children look for the "traces" of an Easter bunny or rabbit. He brings chocolate eggs to the kids. But what do eggs and a hare have to do with each other, what can they have in common? It turns out that this tradition dates back to ancient times. Back then, rabbits and hares were considered sacred and praised for their fertility. In turn, the egg is a symbol of the beginning and preservation of life. On the Resurrection of the Lord, everyone wishes each other health and increased prosperity and believes that a gift in the form of a chocolate or marzipan bunny and an egg can help achieve these wishes.
Although this tradition is quite unusual for me, I can't help but think it's very cute. After all, all the houses are decorated with cute bunnies and colourful eggs. Shops offer a variety of Easter paraphernalia. I especially like the flowerpots with flowers decorated with rabbits and Easter eggs. And all this variety has been on the shelves of all the shops for 2 months now, and houses have been decorated for quite some time.
Despite the difference in the dates and symbols of the holiday, I believe that it is important to respect the traditions of the people you live among, even if you have a slightly different faith.
