Книжковий хробачок, огляд 26: Порожня могила - Little bookworm, review 26: Empty grave

Доброго ранку, шановна спільното!

Це останній допис про серію книжок Джонатана Страуда «Локвуд і Ко», про наш світ, до якого почали зі світу мерців потрапляти привиди, яких бачать тільки діти і підлітки, які і ведуть з ними боротьбу.

У останньому томі Люсі, яка на момент четвертого тому звільнилася з агенції Локвуда через те, що переживала, що тенденція самого Ентоні рятувати її за будь яких обставин зрештою буде коштувати йому життя, повертається і знову співпрацює з хлопцями. Старий череп, потужне джерело для привида третього типу все іще залишається з Люсі, проте одного дня його викрадають.

Звісно, Люсі сповнена бажання відшукати духа, який став їй майже другом. Разом із Локвудом вони відвідають чорний аукціон, на якому знаходять склянку, проте через охоронців та переслідувачів не можуть його зібрати.

Для того, щоб пройти на аукціон їм самим треба було принести щось, що вони могли б на ньому запропонувати. Тож підлітки попрощалися по ящиках загиблих батьків Локвуда і знайшли декілька шатлів, якими начебто відлякували привидів шамани. Їм пощастило, що вони і насправді так працювали, бо інакше вони б не вибралися з аукціону живими.

Через цей інцидент Локвуд і його друзі розуміють, що взагалі-то можна не лише мерцям потрапляти у світ живих, можливий і зворотній перехід. Тоді вони починають думати, що як хтось навмисне відчинив портал до світу духів, і це стає їх останнім розслідуванням.

Тепер я думаю настав час підвести підсумки цієї серії аж на пʼять дописів.

Мені дуже сподобалася вся серія, можна сказати, що прочитала я її на одному подиху. Вона дуже затишна, і одночасно досить динамічна, щоб я не втратила до неї цікавість десь посередині.

Я взагалі люблю підліткову літературу, вона зазвичай динамічна і не напружує, можна за один присіст прочитати 5-10 томів, і не буде потреби у тому, що я собі називаю «книжковим детоксом», тобто змінювати жанр та формат читанки, щоб трохи перепочити після чогось серйозного.

Отже, залюбки можу рекомендувати цю серію як читанку просто для розваги і відпочинку:)

This is the last post about the series of books by Jonathan Stroud "Lockwood and Co.", about our world, where ghosts began to enter from the world of the dead, which are seen only by children and teenagers, and who fight them.

In the final volume, Lucy, who resigned from Lockwood's agency at the time of volume four because she was worried that Anthony's own tendency to save her at all costs would eventually cost him his life, returns and works with the boys again. The old skull, a powerful source for the third-type ghost, still remains with Lucy, but one day it is stolen.

Of course, Lucy is full of desire to find the spirit that has become her almost friend. Together with Lockwood, they visit a black auction, where they find a glass, but because of guards and pursuers, they cannot collect it.

In order to go to the auction, they themselves had to bring something that they could offer at it. So the teenagers said goodbye to the boxes of Lockwood's dead parents and found several shuttles, which were supposedly used to scare away the ghosts of the shamans. They were lucky that they actually worked like that, because otherwise they wouldn't have made it out of the auction alive.

Because of this incident, Lockwood and his friends understand that in general, it is not only possible for the dead to enter the world of the living, the reverse transition is also possible. They then begin to wonder how someone deliberately opened the portal to the spirit world, and this becomes their final investigation.

Now I think it's time to wrap up this series in five posts.

I really liked the whole series, you can say that I read it in one sitting. It is very comfortable, and at the same time dynamic enough that I do not lose interest in it somewhere in the middle.

I generally like teenage literature, it is usually dynamic and not stressful, you can read 5-10 volumes in one sitting, and there will be no need for what I call a "book detox", that is, changing the genre and format of the reader in order to rest a little after something serious.

So, I can happily recommend this series as a reader just for fun and relaxation :)
