Islam's View on Gossip
because talking is allowed in several things, the first is that the person is allowed to gossip in 2 things, if it is related to inviting goodness, it is permissible to gossip about people. The second is inviting people to give alms, or reconciling people, meaning gossiping to reconcile, that's why the person is allowed to talk about other people's bad points, to reconcile.
For example, a judge sometimes receives gossip from one person who raises a problem, this is also gossiping about other people's problems, so reconciling is permissible. But the forum is to resolve, not a forum to be opened publicly, because if the person who hears it is not happy, it includes people who eat other people's flesh, eat the carcasses of their relatives.
In principle, what is the difference between News and news, if the news is something that is used for prevention, it endangers many people. Then then something that is commonplace, for example Pharaoh. Pharaoh was gossiped about by many people, but it's okay, I mean gossip, or talked about continuously, talked about continuously, it's okay, after all Pharaoh is just a title, not his real name. Because later there will be ethics, there are manners where people, for example, who, I'm sorry, disagree with the president, we are not allowed to criticize his name, we criticize his position.
If gossip is still hearsay, still bird news, it's not clear. Well, when an event then appears, then they have a justification, or the idea that in the event the gossip is still there, we clarify it to the person concerned, so that the person says no, says it's right, says it's wrong, so that it's not gossip, if it's for tabayyun, for clarification, then it's okay.
But what happened wasn't! What does that mean? Don't let us make it, when it becomes not allowed, that's when saying something. If it's bad, because saying good things, it's allowed, and it's not gossip. Then if you listen to hurt feelings, meaning what is being gossiped about, for example, I was reported to have a secret marriage, and I was hurt to hear that, then it's not allowed.
The next one, if it does not provide benefits, because the name of the show must still have an information function, an educational function, a function for the power of good instruction. So what is the difference between gossip, backbiting, slander? Gossip actually talks about something that is almost the same as gossiping, or backbiting. Well, backbiting is gossiping, talking about someone's bad points, if the person hears it, he doesn't accept it, he doesn't accept it. But if it's a good thing, it's not considered a mistake, yes, if it's not true, it's called slander.
But the consideration is still if gossip is still the consideration of what its benefits are. Therefore, if it is watched in general, even though it's true, but it's not good for children, the consequences are not good for children, they have been taught this, that, that becomes a problem. For example, if we are gossiped about, or we are slandered, it's better for us to be the first to do tabayyun, that is to straighten it out. This means that we who are slandered, we who are gossiped about clarify the matter, if it's not true. But if it is not possible to keep quiet, then it is an advantage for us. Because the Messenger of Allah also once received gossip, the gossip was about Aisyah RA.
Once, Ummul mu'minin Aisyah RA went out of town with a group, suddenly everyone had left, except for the wife of the Messenger of Allah. The wife of the Messenger of Allah did not leave, why? Because she was looking for a lost necklace, the necklace was a gift directly from the Messenger of Allah, made by the Messenger of Allah himself. Even though the necklace was only a wooden necklace, but the one made by the Messenger of Allah, was a gift for his wife. So women, if they want to imitate the Messenger of Allah, if they ask for a gift, just give a wooden necklace.
We continued, it turned out that everyone had left, only Aisyah was left from the group, in the end what else could we do. Then the camel she was riding got up, it turned out that the necklace was under the camel. So the camel was really rude, sitting down and sitting on Aisyah's necklace. Finally, she caught up with the group, followed by the last guard, because the Messenger of Allah usually left to guard first.
Then there was a clean sweep troop named, then Aisyah's group was followed by Safwan, coincidentally Safwan was a handsome man. So people saw that togetherness, finally they thought Aisyah and Safwan were having an affair. Then the verse of An Nisa was revealed, which talks about slander, so it was emphasized,
"O Muhammad, do not say that slander is bad, it is good for you, but whoever spreads it, he bears the sin as much as he spreads it".
Astaqfirullahal'azim.
Greetings always compact.
