the general trend seems to be moving away from such rituals... How do you experience this?

Over here, I will say work is one thing that has been keeping a lot of people occupied. You don’t have the luxury of having holidays on December except for public holidays. December is now looking like a normal day, so that joy of Christmas and lightning all over peoples house is dwindling. Just few families still try to do some decorations with the lights.
