Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 68: What is the best way to handle stress?
I am captivated by the topic because stress is a general problem which does not look at the gender or nationality before affecting someone, it is something that kills if it is not handled properly.
WHAT IS STRESS
Stress is the process in which humans get affected by life's challenging situation, it could be emotional, physical or mental. Stress can affect our lives positively by helping us to grow, it helps us to be mentally alert, always on guard, it can also affect us negatively by posting threat to our health, too much of stress is not recommended for anyone as it is dangerous.
When any body is under stress, the person will be worried, it is in another word called excessive worries, stress can make a person loose focus and balance, because it affects the person overall wellbeing.
Stress occur because a person has overworked his or herself.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE STRESS
Stress could be handled in different ways, what works for me may not work for another person, so handling stress varies from person to person. But they are some things that could be done to help manage stress, these includes:
Sleep
Music
Staying calm
Eating healthy
Living simple etc.
Sleep: To many, sleep is the only remedy for stress, when under stress, they get some rest it may be for a few minutes, and everything will be settled. Sleep helps to reduce stress in the sense that when we are asleep our brain will be relaxed, our nerves will be calm and stress symptoms will be gone.
Music: some people managed stress by listening to cool music, this will help them to be calm and focus. Sometimes listening to music while carrying out task do help me not to be tired and stressed.
Staying calm: staying calm helps to manage stress, it is equivalent to taking a short break, maybe looking at the sky, the beach or beautiful nature, all this helps to control stress.
Eating healthy: there are some foods that helps to manage stress ,foods like, nuts, spinach, fish, berries, dark chocolate etc.
So consuming this foods helps to control stress, healthy food is recommended for people who are stressed.
Living simple: Many people are stressed because they want to live a high standard of living, so because of that they have to work hard to meetup, working extra hours and neglecting their health which they are in turn stress, so if we tend to live a life we can afford most causes of stress will be reduced.
HAVE YOU BEEN STRESSED UP BEFORE?
Yes, I have been stressed up to the point of passing out. It was a terrible experience, although I have always been stressed but a little sleep or music do calm me down but this particular case was different, it was stress at it peak.
WHAT CAUSES IT
Two years Ago, I was working as a chef in a hotel, it was a 24hours workshift, at the same time am staying with my aunt because her house was closer to the workplace, this work requires cooking for 24hours for guest and also going off for 24hours, so one day by colleague asked me to cover for her for two days as she is having an appointment in the hospital for that day, so that implies I will be working for 48hours straight no sleep no rest, after closing from work, I returned home to rest but I met another work at home. I have to cook,clean and wash, I managed to do all that by the time I was done, it was night already so I worked without sleep and rest for 60hours up😔😔, I felt dizzy and wanted to pass out.
WHAT I DID TO HELP
I went to bed, sleep for 48hours only wake up to eat and shower, that two days sleep really helped me to recover from stress.
DO YOU THINK STRESS CAN SOLVE THIS LIFE CHALLENGES
NO, stress can not solve this life challenges but can only cause havoc and chaos, stress is not a problem solver but will damaged individual health causing more challenges in life.
ADVICE FOR SOMEONE THAT IS STRESSED
To anyone that is stress please relax, sleep,eat and worry less,when it is the right time everything will fall back to normal.

We're living in a stressful world, and we're forced most of the time to work overtime to make a living. But we have to properly manage stress to avoid breakdown or health implications. Getting enough rest, listening to music, and eating healthy foods help to relieve stress.
I have come to realize that working out ourselves or working overtime always may not eliminate our problems, but rather add to our problems because we establish health issues for ourselves.
