Must you have a degree before you have a well-paying job? Explain with experiences if any

Education is the key to success as we have always been told. My parents told us stories of how those days in a family at least one person was sent to acquire formal education and once the person was done with school, you got a job that helped the family. Some of our parents work with that mindset to send us to school so that we can be gainfully employed after school.

But presently things don't happen that same way anymore. The rate of unemployment has become so high that a lot of graduates are jobless. So having a degree is not a guarantee of a well-paying job

Is the contest title trying to condemn education?

No, The title does not condemn education but tries to let us know that formal education only can not be a path to financial freedom. Gaining skills also can be helpful. This makes you self-employed or an added income source.

There are people who formal education has been their only pathway to financial freedom but this does not apply to everybody. Like in my country, there are lots of unemployed graduates and I am glad how so many of them have also acquired skills aside from their formal education and are doing well financially.

Is it dangerous to have the view that you can only make money after schooling?

Money can be made while you are still in school. The skilled job pays at any time. I have a niece who is still in secondary she learnt how to bake from my other sister when she visited her. So when she came back to her house she began baking snacks and kept them in her mummy's shop to sell. After the day's sales, her mum gives her money made from the snacks sold.

With this skill, my niece doesn't need to wait for a white-collar job after schooling to have financial freedom. All she needs do is set up a good place and employ more hands thereby creating job opportunities for other people

How has Steemit proven that you must not finish school before you start making money?

Steemit is a platform anybody can write and earn irrespective if they are still schooling or done schooling. It does not require you to finish schooling before you can earn money from it.

It has also proven that with Steemit you invest against the future while in school, with no pressure when the job is not forthcoming immediately after school because you have something to hold on to.

This is my entry. i invite @Chima09, @rossnenye and @echuku to join the contest.
