A very warm welcome to my blog, it's a pleasure being here with all of you in this great community steem4nigeria. I am @emmaboy23 a Nigerian steemians which have come to partake in this weekly contest organized by @benton3. This weeks contest talks about ostrich and I will be dropping my humble entry below.

Ostrich have been a long topic of fascination for me, their impressive speed, distinctive appearance and unique behaviors captures my imagination. Ostrich are flightless birds and are one of the largest living birds on earth. They stand up to 9 feet tall and weighs almost as much as 320 pounds, their long muscular legs enables them to run up to 45 miles per hour making them the fastest animals in the world. Just like many birds ostrich have small wings but not very useful in the aspect of flight, they usually use their wings to balance and steer their bodies while running.

Their feathers are one of the most distinctive features of the ostrich, their bodies are covered in a soft, fluffy and comfortable feathers that are mainly used for insulation while their tails are covered with long elephant plumes that are used for courtship display towards female. Ostrich have very powerful and strong legs which they use to run and kick predators and defend themselves against threats. Now that you are enlightened about this fascinating animal let's go over to the drawing.

step 2

In step two I started the drawing by first starting from the head of the ostrich by drawing its nose, ear and eyes.

step 3

After drawing the head I then went over to the body and draw its body, remember to make the neck look long and in a curved way just like I did.

step 4

In step four I then drew the legs of the ostrich making it look like it's standing and then I drew the tail of the ostrich.
