Feed the Orphans Project - Modification to its Mode of Operation

Introduction

The change you are willing to see in the world should begin with you, in essence, you must be a forerunner before advocating that change or else it may turn out to you making a fool of yourself or the other party involved. I wanna make a change and I've acted as the forerunner on many occasions, I think there is one more to see in this article today.

Feed the Orphans Project

There are many lives out there that have no one responsible for their welfare even at the early stage of their lives, so many cases of infants abandoned immediately after birth, some who lost their mothers at childbirth, and others whose parents couldn't afford to take responsibility for their lives and so on. Of course, orphanage homes accommodate those ones, at least to take responsibility for their welfare.

Most orphanage homes in Nigeria don't have enough in most cases to run the organization and are always welcoming helping hands to assist them in catering for these orphans. I have a passion to have an organization in the future that would contribute immensely to giving orphans a good life.

This is an idea that had popped up in my heart years ago even before I joined Steemit and when I became a part of the ecosystem, I have seen great work of charity that has been achieved through Steemit then I thought I can also do something for my community in the name of Steemit but there are some hindrances which is why I had to hold back the project all this while.

The Hindrances

• Charity projects often come with the creation of a separate account which in some cases, users utilize to bypass the club status without actually performing the initial intention.

• Projects that cannot be traced to helping many lives out there with the name of Steemit.

• When I look at some projects a few times, I only see a medium of movement of funds from the platform. Well, I can't cite examples.

I held back from that project due to the reasons above, obviously, I don't wanna be counted even by mistake as one of those that cook up such illusions (far from reality), I guess I'm too soft on life (And I think it suits me). Yes, we have genuine projects with proper documentation of the activities and traces of how it has helped many lives.

That said, I have grown on the platform genuinely over the years, none of my SP was gained by any manipulation. I was a student in the Academy without having contact with any professors back then not to talk of asking one to select me as one of the top guys (yet I won severally), I tell this story to many often, of course, many don't wanna listen to it, lol.

I have come this far with full integrity and I do appreciate the support I have received from the Steemit team since then and even now. In essence, I pended the project many months ago because I don't want in any way to be associated with anything that tends to make people reason, it's another money movement scheme. Nah!

Resolution on Feed the Orphans Project

Taking a closer look at some of the recommendations of SC01 as regards sourcing funds for the project from a few accounts that are powering down. It's nearly impossible for me to achieve especially when I have not had personal interactions with almost 95% of the group in many months. And with decentralization, the owner wins over his/her decision in the end.

In addition, I highlighted earlier that this is a project I have conceived years ago which means it goes beyond a mere project, it's all about touching lives with whatever one can. As such, I have made some decisions on the project:

• No account would be created for the Feed the Orphans project.

• Community members would not be approached to contribute to the project either.

• I will be solely responsible for the project with the little funds I can generate from my account while maintaining my club status. The main aim is engaging in a valid project that does not only impact one or two persons but numerous lives.

• That said, Feed the Orphans would still be spearheaded with the name of Steemit. I would do my best to rep Steemit to put smiles on many faces out there.

In conclusion, I appreciate the people who had shared the vision with me via their comments, the support is not taken for granted, and to SC01, thanks for the wishes of luck on this. The Feed the Orphans project stands, although, there were a few changes, the project would continually be facilitated while I give reports once in a while on how things has been running.
