in Steem4Nigeria11 months ago

Greetings to everyone, I am delighted to be a part of this week 1 of the season 15 engagement, it has been inspiring and educating. This week's theme "Life on Social Media" is quite an interesting one and requires to be addressed owing to the lots of mishaps resulting from its misuse.

Do You Support That Our Daily Lives Should Be Put Up On Social Media All The Time?

The social media and its various platforms aren't bad on themselves. When the purpose of a thing isn't known, abuse is inevitable and this is the case with social media. Social media was designed for communication to bridge the distance between people, for advertisement and creation of awareness as well as for presentation.

It is very unfortunate that many have mesmerized social media to disclose their privacy to the entire globe. Countless people are connected to social media, whatever we do on social media is accessible to an unlimited number of people. Living or showing our daily lives on social media jeopardizes our privacy.

Beyond every reasonable doubt, many lives posted on social media are fake and this is nothing less than deception. Putting our daily lives on social media is an abuse of personal life and privacy. Certain information should be exclusive to us, our friends as well as foes are on social media hence whatever we share on social media goes to both friends and foes.

Disclosing our lives on social media endangers us, gives room for outsiders to interfere with our privacy, and can result in blackmail and scandal, once a piece of information is given to social media it is automatically irreversible this makes it difficult to retrieve or correct the impression it may create.

It is therefore not advisable to put our daily lives on social media as it jeopardizes our privacy and exposes us to people who might use our information against us.

Have You Ever Experienced Or Seen Any Case Where A Person Has The Habit Of Showcasing His Life On Social Media And The Effects Turned Out Well?

Social media has been a perfect place for lies, deceit, and other mischievous activities which has been a menace to the world at large. Many people have directly or indirectly fallen victim to social media.

Just like they say, 'like minds attract'. This was the case of Lydia, a relative who is a social media freak. She came from a humble poor background and was very negatively different from all her siblings. She lacks contentment and lives a fake social media life.

She would present herself on social media as the daughter of one opulently wealthy man, utilizing everything she comes across to paint a picture of a rich daughter of a wealthy man. She eventually attracted the attention of a guy who appeared as a well-to-do man on the same social media parading himself as a big boy and came to her for marriage.

What happened still beats the imaginations of all who can recall the events. Both her traditional and white wedding were the talk of the town, it was so flamboyant and then she was married off. She arrived at her husband's house only to discover that he was squatting with a friend in a one-room apartment.

Not only was he squatting with a friend, but he was technically doing nothing for a living, the resounding wedding events, the cars, and the money lavished could all be characterized as "the more you look the less you see". They both painted a picture of what they aren't and nature brought them together. Since it was a relationship built on deceit and lies it couldn't stand, it crashed in a space of two years and she was back to square.

Do You Think All The Showcases on Social Media Are True?

Not at all, too many social media celebrities are a nobody where they came from in real life, so many social media motivational speakers have nothing to show forth as a personal achievement. So many social media relationship coaches are heartbroken in fact, social media is one of the channels of deception.

It is on social media that you see people who cannot afford a three square meal tell you or make you see them as owners of the latest SUVs. There are too many lies and deceit, fraud, scams, and snares on social media hence requiring critical thinking to avoid victimization.

The truth remains that so many people are not what or who they portray on social media, in some real-life sense, what we order on social media sometimes isn't what we get. Therefore, it is very important that adequate care be taken and one should be mindful of social media.

Do You Feel Safe On Steemit With Your Information? What Can You Say About Steemit

The Steemit platform is never like every other social media, even though every user's account can be accessed by followers and the ones we follow, activities are strictly regulated. Come to think of it, it is obvious that the platform is composed of mature, reasonable fellows who are business-minded.

Being a decentralized blockchain platform, activities are well scrutinized and this does not give room for fake publications and postings as seen in other social media platforms. Fraud, scams, and hacking are almost impossible on steemit except for the carelessness of a user which is very rare.

Steemit is very secure, reliable, and comfortable hence everyone on the platform would, like me, feel safe with our information. Vital, sensitive, and security information about a user is only at the user's discretion.

Exactly @hisgeneral. People have so much abused the use of social media to the extent that it poses a security challenge to others. There are countless stories of people been traced and kidnapped and assassinated through social media data collection. We all have to be conscious. Goodluck

Thanks @chilaw for the engagement

¡Saludos amigo!😊

Totalmente...

Thanks for the engagement, you are appreciated
