Hello friends, I hope the new week is amazing and beautiful for everyone. My neighborhood watch for this week is going to be a report of how we all averted a disaster in my community.

On Saturday last week, I woke up from a nap and I had wanted to go to church. My hair looked a little rough, so I went for a haircut in a saloon along my street.

I finished with the haircut and paid the barber, I took some pictures and when I was about to go out of the saloon, I heard a loud sound very close to me. I was definitely scared as the sound continued. It wasn't up to a minute and there was frenzy in the street. Throwing my long neck out of the saloon window, I tried to make sure I was safe as I had rushed into the shop on hearing the sound....Your guess is as good as mine, I thought it was gun shots. So I had to be very careful not to run into a stray bullet.

But that was not the case, as I saw people running to a particular shop, I rushed out of the shop when I saw dark fumes and then people started shouting fire. I rushed over and it was a shop that charges phones using Solar. What could possibly have happened?
The shop was locked, I think the owner didn't open that day. Still unknown to me why the solar system exploded..very sure it was the batteries that stores the energy from the panel.

Well these are just assumptions as to what might have caused the fire. Nobody could get close to the shop because of the explosion in it. We managed to open the window and tried calling the owner of the shop to come over. The room was very dark that in that moment I had to put my phone in my pocket and rush to see how to help.

We got water and detergent to suppress the fire. We couldn't even see inside the room because of the dark fumes, fire was already engulfing things in the shop. So we threw in the water into the shop with the chargers in there. At this point we didn't care if the water could destroy the phones in there.

There was a generator with fuel in there and that was catastrophy looming before our presence. Everyone in the community came out to quench the fire and soon the owner of the shop arrived to see his shop in smoke and fumes.

The door was opened and a lot of things were damaged by the fire. We thank God the fire didn't get to the generator which had fuel in it. But a lot of things were destroy in the process. No live was hurt too.

I was really happy that the neighborhood came together to avert a disaster that would have possibly rendered other people homeless. Every one was in shock how the fire started and were condoling the man who had the shop to take heart.

It is good to have Neighbours who would possibly watch over your things even in your absence...well that is my neighborhood watch for the week.
