In View of Christmas 🎄🎁"
Christmas has always meant different things to me at different phases of life.
As we grow other the meaning and purpose of Christmas starts to change.
One time Christmas was a time to receive gift, eat food and wear our best cloth to visit family and friends, collecting more gifts and eating more foods.
After a while the table turned we became the giver, that is we are now the once giving the gifts and making the food for others to eat .
Which ever way it is, one thing has remained constant and that is, the word "Christmas" gives me so much joy and hope. It's a season where we share love and receive love.
Starting from the warm cold breeze of the harmattan to the appearance of cherry popularly know as "udara" in my mother's tongue.
Christmas seen almost as a global holiday is a time to drop or rather pause from our busy lives to enjoy the togetherness of our friends and family.
It is not just a holiday of rest, it is a time where beautiful memories are created.
A time were the load of the busy life is dropped and you can be able to share genuine laughter and smiles with a loved one over a drink, good meal or snack.
It's also a time when one can rejuvenate their strength for the next year ahead too.
Probably find the reason why they do what they do in terms of work and purpose.
As a Christian For me also Christmas isn't just about religiously celebrating the birth of Jesus. For me it is moment were I reflect deep down on the true significance that Jesus' birth brings.
The joy of having a person who chose to come down to earth because of me. The hope, the peace it brings.
It is also a time to share that same joy, peace and hope to loved ones and people around me.
Having been married for two years, I miss my family, I wish I could spend the Christmas with them, make our favorite meal while we talk about life and old memories.
Everybody is now far away, some not in communication with one another because of work and family responsibilities but I feel Christmas would have been a better time to bond and be happy.
When we were much younger my mom would make jollof rice and beans with vegetable salad.
We would have fried meat and turkey to go with the dish, oh is was greatly enjoyed by all.
My father would organize a dancing competition and the winner goes home with an extra turkey. I remember how I never get to win because my sisters danced better than I do.
If I get the opportunity to spend this Christmas with my siblings I think I might go home with that extra turkey because I have been taking some dance lessons 😁.
For the extra I would make my favorite zobo, and I know my family would enjoy it.
Well the origin and purpose of Christmas was to celebrate the birth of " Jesus " and the birth of Jesus was a gift of love, the bible made us to understand that God gave us his son because he loved us even as sinners.
Christmas began with an act of love and so you can not take aways love from Christmas.
The season speak a whole lot about love and togetherness.
I can only say am hopeful, my plans are made hoping I get the purchasing power to do the needful.
What is Christmas without celebration, of course I would celebrate.
I don't really have any plans to visit any place except home and be with my siblings if the opportunity presents itself.
I think I would wear anything nice and colorful. Not necessarily a costume.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:
I love Christmas not because of the celebration of Christ birth, but for the fact that it's the end of of the year and a kind of holiday for families makes me love the season.
