Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 68: What is the best way to handle stress?
To be stress is when you are mentally, physically, psychologically exusted. At the stage your body can no longer cooperate with anything but rather your whole being needs recoperation.
The best way I feel stress can be handled is to rest and give yourself a break. Rest eat well and relax, with no worries or anxiety.
My first and ever experience of stress was in 2022 during my wedding planning.
Unlike most brides who would use the service of a wedding planner, I on the other hand was both the bride and the wedding planner because we could not afford one as at then.
My husband was too busy to be physically available for the planning leaving me to do all.
As if that was not enough, I had to go to Aba market from Owerri every week to get what we needed. Now from Owerri to Aba is like a 3 hours drive traffic included. This is an inter state travel.
The stress was killing me but I had no idea. I continued till few weeks to my wedding, I had to travel to Lagos for a conference.
In-between the second day of the conference, stress kicked in. At a point in the conference hall, I could not hear anything, it was as if my system was shutting down.
I quickly came out from the hall thinking is was just being tire, but as time goes on, I started to feel other symptoms like my eyes suddenly turning red and tearing.
I became so emotionally for no tangible reason. All I could feel was lonely and alone. Depression started kicking in gradually, immediately a friend say me I asked me what the problem was, knowing fully we how I was so energetic and full of life this morning.
What is wrong with he asked, and kept biting round the bush, he looked at me and said, Jovita you are stressed, he place his hand on my forehead to feel my temperature and I was burning up.
He took me to his hotel room, asked my to relax my self and sleep. He collected my phone, got me something to eat and repeated himself, Jovita I said sleep.
When he left, I just closed my eyes and slept off, I slept for almost twelve hours, by the time I woke up, it was like I was charged up again.
I went down the hotel restaurant to eat, after eating all those symptoms where gone.
At the junction I knew I had over worked myself.
Do you think stress can solve this life challenges?
Rest and I say again rest.
I have seen people loose their life because of stress, and I have also witnessed people loose their mind to stress. At any point you feel exusted please rest.
Take a break and come back to the job later, you would see, you would do better.
Also learn to ask of help when necessary, and don't always feel you can do it all by yourself. Life is not that too complicated.
