Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 61: Is formal education the only path to financial freedom?

Hello, it's another opportunity given to us to see how we can deliberate on skills and formal education.

If I knew all that I know now, I shouldn't have gone to spend time and resources in the name of higher education. This is because we have been wired that the only way you can make money is by going to school to have a job.

Going to school can never give anyone financial freedom in life. I will use the contest guide below to express my view:

Must you have a degree before you have a well-paying job? Explain with experiences if any

The answer the the above question is NO! This is because the Degree is just a paper that anyone and equally use money and buy as compared to what is going on today in our country.

I have a friend who works with a white's man company and he had no school sets. He was already employed as a data analyst before he got admission into the Civil engineering department but since he didn't have the cash to make up with his fees and other departmental fees not to mention house rent, he decided to forfeit the admission.

He went and continued with his job and he became so relevant in the company that the white man couldn't do without him.

Some of the characteristics I found in him are:
• Self discipline
• Time consciousness to work
• Respect
• Attention to details and
• Open to learning.

Because of these attributes, the white man had so much believed in him and this made him one of the key men in the office.

The company had employed graduates from different fields of study who had gained Degrees but this young man still headed over them all because of the skill of data entry.

So you must not get a Degree before you have a well-paying job.

Is the contest title trying to condemn education?

The answer is not at all. Education is the foundation for any business to do well. Education helps to improve your knowledge of what to produce, how to do a particular job very well

Formal education aids in improving your learning skills, thereby giving you more opportunities to be able to handle and do things professionally.

Is it dangerous to have the view that you can only make money after schooling?

If you were born in a poor family where everybody is striving to survive, you wouldn't wait till after schooling before you learn how to make money.

Having the view of making money after schooling is dangerous! This is because today in Nigeria my country, a job is not promised after schooling. This had been like a wired system that we need to go to school to be financially free but that is not true.

The money I made helped me to get my Degree. I was even making money while in school.

How has steemit proven that you must not finish school before you start making money?

Steemit has made it easier for anyone who wishes to make money online using his/her smartphone in the comfort of your home.

Steemit ecosystem has proven this overtime that one can make money even if one drops out of school.

Steemit has no limits for anyone who wants to make money in this space. However, since I joined Steemit, it added value to my life.

In conclusion, formal education is not the only way to gain financial freedom. Learning skills before you come of age it's of great importance and this will help you make money even while gaining knowledge.
