Well I don't know if I should attribute the recent happenings to the current hardship or it is in the blood of the people involved to do what they are doing.
Recently, a young man around the market square was paraded naked for stealing. He was beaten blue black by the youths before being handed over to the police.
Such a young man that is should use his hand to work now in police net.
Is there any future again for him? He will now be known as ex- convict. What a pity and shame to bear a name not given to you by your parents

Another happening that left me dumb founded was the one that happened in my village last week. Since my mother was not feeling quite strong ,she sent a message across to our neighbor to please get her some cassava from her farm to make tapioca since this is pear season so she could use the tapioca to enjoy the pear. The woman accepted and sent her children to go get the cassava from the farm, and behold the children on getting to the farm, saw a woman uprooting the cassava. The children shouted and screamed but instead of the woman to be afraid and run,she in turn used machete to scare the children telling them that if they come close, she will cut them.
The children became afraid and ran away from the farm while the woman went away with a bag of cassava tied to her bicycle. Wonders shall never end. This concludes the saying that " because the owner of a farm is slow to call a thief,a thief, the thief now turns and calls the owner of the farm a thief. Hmm what a world we are living in now.

A sorrowful one happened last two weeks during ete market day.
Ete market day is a big day where people from different places even as far as Aba do come to sell their goods.
So there is this man who had his job terminated , his wife is his strong backbone supporting the husband by taking their products (eggs) in creates to the market.
She has finished selling that day and I'm sure she must have bought some food items to prepare food for the family .
The husband carried their motor bike to go and bring back the wife. Almost close to the house , a man who attended a political meeting drunk hit them from behind and guess what? The woman died on the spot while the husband was unconscious and rushed to the hospital.
When he woke up later to see himself in the hospital, he asked after his wife and was told the bitter truth. Chai what a world!!

But in all of these, my neighborhood is booming with life as new companies are coming in to make the community lively.
Youths are being employed and we could identify strange faces in the neighborhood

Every morning you will see buses conveying the workers to work and bringing them back in the evening.
People that are mobile like my pastor's wife Will Make egg roll, fish pie and even fry ground nuts in large quantities and take to okopedi( that's where the company is located) and sell.

That reminds me when ALSCON first came in to Ikot Abasi and everywhere was bubbling with life and you see the white men everywhere and girls ran crazy.
Market women especially those that sold Fruits and fresh tomatoes will sell and be happy because a white man's price will be high.

But I thank God that n all of the negative things happening around us , there is no record of kidnapping which is the order of the day now and I glorify God for that.

Thank you for taking time to read my post. I invite @emmaprince and @Inem to join in the contest.
