Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 12: local Spices : For Taste, Flavour and Good Health.

Spices play an important role in both traditional and continental dishes. The art of balancing the right proportion of spices in a traditional dish is an amazing skill because in our local kitchen, spices and seasoning are not measured using any device like weight or a measuring cup. And yet, you are expected to get the right proportion of spices for the dish.

Which spices do you use in your local dishes, how do you measure and quantify it when using them. Do they have any medicinal value you are aware of?

In this week's Steem4nigeria accelerator contest, we will be putting a spotlight on some local Spices, what you call them and how you use them in your preparation of some local dishes. We really want to learn from you so write with the intention to teach us.

• What are spices? And identify at least five of the spices in the thumbnail picture above.

• What are the local names of the spices you could Identify with local pictures from your kitchen.

• How did you get to know this spices and when do you apply them individually or as a combination.

• How do you measure the quantity to be used when preparing any local dish.

• Are they any claimed or confirmed health benefits of the spices you have identified?

• What else would you like to tell us about these or any other spices.

• Sourced pictures are not accepted in this contest

• Write an article on the subject with at least 300 words and post it in this community.

• Note that you are eligible to make only one entry as a verified user.

• The Title should be - local Spices : For Taste, Flavour and Good Health.
