Hello fellow steemians and foodies!🤭, welcome back here.
Let's see how far we can get with eggs today.

Of course we all know the food is a dairy product gotten from various species/ types of bird and not just chickens; well most of the time chickens. You could get different types of edible eggs from different birds which is why you have:
Chicken eggs, duck's egg, quail's egg, goose's eggs, turkey's eggs, emu's eggs, ostrich's eggs. These are considered edible enough for man since other creatures lay eggs; that is reptiles (which I won't recommend and not sure people eat) and fishes, but that is on another level.

As you can see, they come in different colors (white, brown, peach, patterned etc) and various sizes from small, medium to jumbo ( about 70-85 g).

This food is one of the proteinous foods consumed on earth and on cracking its shell open, you find the albumen and yolk boiled or not. But do you think it is possible for an egg not to have a yolk?🤔

Anyways, nutritionally eggs are enriched with protein, vitamin, calcium and antioxidants making them do so well in maintaining the eye, brain and heart's condition. It also helps in muscle growth and repair of worn out tissues.

To eat eggs, they can be:

  • Boiled in hot water
  • Scrambled in heated pan after being whisked
  • Bake in the oven for 15 minutes when cracked.
  • Poached in simmering water.
  • Fried in hot oil after being whisked.

Let me share with you my little recipe of a dish made with egg and that is fried plantain and egg. People have different ways they make this, you're free to share or talk about yours in the CS later but here is mine:
You need:
3 eggs
2 ripe plantains
Fresh scotch bonnet (green and red)
Onions
Vegetable oil
Salt and seasoning.

Procedure:

  • First, pour enough oil into the pan for heating.
  • While that is going on, slice or dice your plantain (whichever way). Then carefully place them into the heated oil for frying at low heat.

  • While your plantain gently fries, get your peppers and onions, grind them with a manual grinder.
  • Get your eggs and crack them open into a bowl; thoroughly whisk them together.
  • Then add your grinded peppers and onions into the whisked eggs. Add salt and seasonings. Make sure this mixture is to your taste (not too salty or too hot).
  • By now, the plantain should be partially done after 5 minutes; carefully pour in the egg's mixture into the frying plantain in the pan. Yeah.
  • Gently stir and let the egg's mixture fry along with the plantain. Let them heat together for a minute more and we are done!
  • Place your dish onto your plate and enjoy when warm.
At the end, it should look something like this:

Some people would call this a frittata though

Trivia!

  1. Eggs can possibly be preserved for more than 9 months through refrigerating.
  2. Painted eggs are used in Europe as symbol for Christ's resurrection
  3. In countries like Japan, eggs could symbolize good luck.
  4. Ostrich eggs are considered largest, equivalent to combining 15 chicken eggs

Here we go.
