Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 69:How long did it take you to unravel who Father Christmas is.
Father Christmas is the traditional English name for the figure representing Christmas, often seen as the same as Santa Claus. He is imagined as an old man with a long white beard, a red coat, and long white hair. Children think he brings gifts during Christmas.
The modern version of Father Christmas emerged in the late Victorian era, but the idea of personifying Christmas has been around for many years. The story of Santa Claus comes from the legend of Saint Nicholas, a Christian bishop from the 4th century who is known as the patron saint of children. The Dutch introduced the tale of Saint Nicholas to New Amsterdam, now known as New York City, along with the tradition of giving gifts on his feast day, December 6. The Dutch name for him, Sinterklaas, was adapted into English as "Santa Claus."
The image of Santa Claus was also shaped by the works of Clement Clark Moore and Thomas Nast. Coca-Cola's choice to feature Santa Claus in their 1930s advertising is seen as one of the most successful marketing strategies ever.
It is clear that the role of Father Christmas can be taken on by anyone willing to do it. In different places like churches and schools, I remember a time when my brother played Father Christmas.
He told us he was going to work, but we didn’t know what kind of work it was. He went to act as Father Christmas at my church. When we went to get our gifts, he surprised me by knowing my wish. I thought Father Christmas was real because he could tell what I wanted.
I was thrilled because if Father Christmas knew my wish, it meant it might come true. I got my gift and enjoyed the event. But when we got home, I heard rumors that my brother was the one in the Father Christmas costume.
I couldn’t believe it because I couldn’t picture him in that outfit or speaking in that voice. When he came back, I asked him directly. He confessed he was the one, and I was so upset that I jumped on him to hit him.
I had been so sure my wish would come true, and now I felt it wouldn’t. I was furious and wished I could go back in time to have a different Father Christmas tell me my wish.
I truly believed Father Christmas was real. I don’t know why I felt that way, but it was a strong belief. I was told that if Father Christmas visited your home, your wishes would come true, and if he mentioned your wish, it would definitely happen.
After finding out it was my brother, I felt disappointed and lost my faith in Father Christmas.

Hola apreciada amiga. Es normal que hayas sentido esa decepción. Pero al menos era tu hermano y aunque no quiso engañarte, pudo herir tus sentimientos. Bendiciones para ti
