Fungi Amused

Hemlock varnish shelf (Ganoderma tsugae) growing at the base of old Hemlock stump near my cabin.
There are a few different polypores mushrooms that grow and thrive on the trees in the woods where I live.
I was so excited when I saw something interesting and new growing. I wasn't sure what it was.
Patiently I waited and watched as it slowly developed hoping I would be able identify.
Great anticipation.

There were several of them growing in different places all around the stump.
The one in the above photo has a little Sedum plant peeking up through it.

My brother surprised me last Summer and came to my cabin unannounced. I was so happy and excited see him.
We had an awesome long overdue visit together.
I couldn't let him leave without first showing him some of my precious fungi gems.
He looked at me and smiled and said
" Sis, you are easily amused"
A compliment goes a long ways 💕🍄
