Барвінок біля мого дому вкрив землю зелено-голубим килимом і я пригадала собі традиції мого народу.
Periwinkle near my house covered the ground with a green-blue carpet and I remembered the traditions of my people.
В українській культурі барвінок символізує любов, довголіття та шлюб. До речі, на Західній Україні, саме зі збору цих квітів розпочинався весільний обряд. Наречені йшли до будинку людей поважного віку, які прожили все своє життя у щасливому шлюбі, й вибирали найгарніші квіти барвінку для весільного віночка.
İn Ukrainian culture periwinkle symbolizes love, longevity and marriage. By the way, in Western Ukraine, it was with the collection of these flowers that the wedding ceremony began. Я дуже люблю читати цікаві історії та легенди про квіти. Є багато різних про барвінок. Ось одна із них:
Жили колись давно чоловік з дружиною у любові і злагоді. А найбільшою потіхою для них був їхній синочок на ім’я Бар. У скорому часі виріс він гарним хлопцем. Багатьом дівчатам він подобався і вони мріяли вийти за нього заміж. Також закохалась в цього красивого хлопця дівчина, мама котрої була відьма. Але Бар вирішив одружитись з іншою, котра називалась Вінка. Ніяка ворожба відьми не могла розбити того кохання.
І ось прийшов день весілля. Щасливі наречені стояли на воротах і чекали батьківського благословення, щоб після цього піти до святої церкви вінчатися.
Раптом звідкись з'явилася відьма зі своєю дочкою. Вона стала перед нареченими і проголосила своє прокляття. Через хвилину на тому місці, де стояли Бар і Вінка, вже нікого не було. Кинулися люди до відьми, а вона махнула руками і злетіла чорною вороною. Кинулися до її дочки, а та злетіла до хмар сірою галкою. Впала матінка Бара на те місце, де стояв її син, і скропила землю слізьми. І сталося диво: на очах у всіх із землі проросло зелене зілля, уквітчане дрібненьким блакитним цвітом...
А назвали його Барвінком. І тягнеться він до хат, до батьківських могил. Кожна дівчина вплітає його у свій весільний вінок.
I really enjoy reading interesting stories and legends about flowers. There are many different things about periwinkle. Here is one of them:
Once upon a time, a man and his wife lived in love and harmony. And the biggest pleasure for them was their little son named Bar. He soon grew up a good guy. He liked many girls and they dreamed of marrying him. Also in love with this handsome guy was a girl whose mother was a witch. But the Bar decided to marry another who was named Winka. No witch divination could break that love. And then the wedding day came. Happy brides stood at the gate waiting for their father's blessing to go to the holy church afterwards.
Suddenly a witch with her daughter appeared from somewhere. She stood before the bride and proclaimed her curse. A minute later, there was no one else at the place where Bar and Wink stood. People rushed to the witch, and she waved her hands and flew a black crow. They rushed to her daughter, and she flew to the clouds a gray rookie.
Mother Bar fell to the place where her son stood and and wept with sorrow. And a miracle happened: in the eyes of everyone from the earth sprouted green herbs, covered with a flowers of blue color ... And they called him
periwinkle flower - BarVinka. And he reaches for the huts, to the graves of his parents. Each girl weaves it into her wedding wreath.
