Drawing Tarzan in the Jungle
Saludos chicos, tengan todos un feliz día, hoy damos inicio a otro gran clásico de Disney, esta vez elegí recrear a los personajes de Tarzan, y comenzamos realizando el diseño del protagonista, un niño criado por gorilas y que pasado un tiempo se volvió hombre. Este largometraje como los anteriores me traen tantos buenos recuerdos de cuando era niña, en aquellos tiempos era tan fanática de esas producciones que hasta llegue a coleccionar todas las figuras que venían en las cajitas feliz de Mc Donalds, ¿quiénes las recuerdan? Sin más que decir empezare a explicar el paso a paso de como realice este dibujo.
Process / Proceso
Sketch / Boceto
I make a scheme of rods resembling the skeleton of the character, in order to achieve the quadruped posture very characteristic of Tarzan, I determine the proportions of the body, for the head I draw a slight circle which divided by parts to position the eyes, nose and hair.
Realizo un esquema de varillas asemejando el esqueleto del personaje, para así poder lograr la postura cuadrúpeda muy característica de Tarzan, determino las proporciones del cuerpo, para la cabeza dibujo un leve círculo el cual divido por partes para posicionar los ojos, nariz y cabello.
Outlined / Delineado
In this step I will refine the lines of the drawing, in the layer of the sketch under the opacity to serve as a guide, I divide the drawing by sections, this time for Tarzan I only used two layers of outline, one for the body and loincloth and the other for the hair.
En este paso voy a refinar las líneas del dibujo, en la capa del boceto bajo la opacidad para que me sirva como guía, divido el dibujo por secciones, esta vez para Tarzan solo use dos capas de delineado, una para el cuerpo y taparrabo y la otra para el cabello.
Colour / Color
As in the previous step, to facilitate the coloring of the drawing, I proceed to divide it into sections using different layers for each section, being the main ones the body and hair, I also like to attach other extra layers to add color to the eyes and a little pink shade to the skin.
Como en el paso anterior, para facilitar el coloreado del dibujo, procedo a dividirlo en secciones usando capas diferentes para cada sección, siendo las principales el cuerpo y cabello, también me gusta anexar otras capas extras para agregar color a los ojos y un poco de tonalidad rosa a la piel.
Shadows / Sombras
This step was really complicated, since with the shadows I had to give shape to Tarzan's musculature, and at the same time give him volume, using the base color of the skin, I create another layer in multiply mode and I give shape to the muscles, I also take advantage to give texture to the hair.
Este paso fue realmente complicado, ya que con las sombras debía darle forma a la musculatura de Tarzan, y a su vez darle volumen, usando el color base de la piel, creo otra capa en modo multiplicar y voy dando forma a los músculos, también aprovecho a darle la textura al cabello.
Lights / Luces
For the glows I focused on the areas I left unshaded, to create that contrast of colors and give even more volume to the muscles, I applied them creating a new layer as a mix and using the airbrush at low opacity I added those areas of light.
Para los brillos me enfoque en las zonas que deje sin sombrear, para crear ese contraste de colores y darle aún más volumen a los músculos, las mismas las aplique creando una nueva capa a modo mezcla añadir y usando el pincel aerógrafo a baja opacidad fui agregando esas zonas de luz.
Background / Fondo
For this background, first I placed a layer under all of them and filled it with a greenish blue, then above this, I placed several layers of vegetation with different shades of green, from a dark one to a lighter one, blurring some of them.
Para este fondo primero coloque una capa debajo de todas y la rellene con un azul verdoso, luego arriba de esta, fui colocando varias capas de vegetación con diferentes tonalidades de verdes, desde uno oscuro hasta otro más claro, difuminando algunas.
Details / Detalles
In this step, to achieve a more realistic effect, place some shadows from the vegetation on Tarzan, and also add some vines in the foreground and blur them a little.
En este paso para lograr un efecto un poco más realista, coloque en Tarzan unas sombras procedentes de la vegetación, además agregue algunas lianas en primer plano y las difumine un poco.
Materials / Materiales
The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
Las herramientas que use para el dibujo fueron las siguientes:
- Tableta Android.
- Lápiz Capacitivo (Stylus).
- Programa Ibis Paint X.
- Pinceles: Lapiz, Aerografo, Difumino, Rotulador.
