My first post here - Pinhão, Typical food from Paraná Brazil in autumn

My first post here and I chose something that is typical of my region. THE PINHÃO.

But this is the Pinhão that occurs in the typical trees here called araucarias or else like Pinheiro do Paraná. Paraná, which is my state in the southern region of Brazil and also the state that most concentrates these trees. So much so that it is represented on our state flag.

But let's go.

At first not what I bring is the roasted Pinhão. In other words, there is no “recipe”. Just bake ... Although we can make stew or else along with other dishes. But, my favorite of all is the roasted Pinhão.

Pinhão starts to appear from March until June / July. And as the cold weather starts here, it is very normal for our houses to have wood stoves. Today was a day when the temperature dropped and then we took the opportunity to make a fire and so dinner or lunch is already done, depending on the time. And as we had the PINHÃO, just put on the stove top, take care not to burn one side too much and that's it.

Of course, after removing Pinhão from the plate, we knead it by tapping it with a wood or even a hammer so that it can break and thus extract the seed. Pinhão is nothing more than a seed that grows in a pinecone at the top of the Araucária / Pinheiros trees.

After that, just take out the Pinhão and eat.

I know that my post is not really a recipe, but it is one of the foods that I love the most and we wait a lot for this time of the year to be able to isolate. And today, when I looked at the community, I was about to eat Pinhão, and then I thought. Why not? And so I wanted to share this tasty seed directly from the state of Paraná in Brazil
