Hello Steemfoods Community!

I wish you all good health and prosperity!

Today, I'm doing a classic Filipino dessert called "Leche Flan" and want to share this with all of you.

Leche Flan is a simple yet classic and Filipino favorite dessert that is made up of eggs and milk with caramel on top. It's somewhat similar to crème caramel and caramel custard. This yummy dessert is easy to prepare and has a long shelf life.

Ingredients

Eggs10 pcs
Condensed Milk1 Can Big (300ml)
Evaporated Milk1 Can Big (370ml)
Sugar250 grams
Vanilla Extract1 Tablespoon
Calamansi (Lemon/Lime)2 pcs (optional)

We also have to prepare our "Llanera" or Flan Molder

1. Break the Eggs and Separate the Yolk

we will only use the Egg Yolks to have a soft and creamy texture

2. In a bowl, combine all remaining ingredients with the Egg Yolk (except sugar).

This could be optional but I've added a dash of "Calamansi" or Lemon/Lime juice on top of the Vanilla Extract just to make sure I eliminate the fishy smell or "lansa" in Filipino that the Egg Yolk makes.

3. Mix all ingredients

4. Add Sugar to the Flan Molder or "Llanera" then heat until syrup turns into a nice golden brown color. Divide among 4 small "Llaneras" and set aside.

5. Strain the mixture to lessen air bubbles for a smoother Leche Flan then divide the mixture among the "Llaneras." Cover with foil.

6. Steam on low heat for 20-25 minutes or until almost firm.

7. Chill overnight or at least 4 hours to set.

I wanted to eat it right away but I really have to control myself (lol) and put it in a refrigerator first to let it cool because this yummy dessert is best served when chilled.

I hope you liked it!

That's all for today!

Enjoy!

Hello, again @alikoc07 I hope you are doing well!

How do we deal with Downvotes? Apparently, this post received a downvote which made my estimated payout $2-3 lesser. It's heartbreaking to see it happened to my post which made it to the best SteemFoods Posts of the day on May 25th. The account appears to have a lot of SP and Flags for Fun.
