The Food Diary Game | Season 10 | June 1st - 2022 | #Club100 | Raisins & Orange Plum Cake x a New Season (My recipe)

in SteemFoods3 years ago

Hi, dear Steemians and SteemFoodies :)

Hope you're all doing well. I'm sharing my Day 1 of The Food Diary Game, Season 10, from the #SteemFoods community, led by @steemitfoods and @alikoc07.

Welcome, June! ...And a new season of the Food Diary Game.

image.png

I started this season with a good cup of coffee. Hot, black, no sugar.

It would help me deal with my busy day.

After coffee, I started working right away. It was 7 a.m. and the day ahead wasas long as a horseback ride.

Then we picked some mangoes and ate them for a first breakfast, like a good Hobbit would do.

As always, our homegrown mangoes are fleshy, juicy and sweet.

image.png

Almost at 11 a.m., we ate arepas filled with cheese and deviled ham. In my house, deviled ham means little time and go, go, go.

image.png

After breakfast, I continued working and stopped at 2 p.m. for a 2 hour recess. I took this time to make a quick vanilla cake with orange and raisins.

image.png

To preprare this cake, I used:

  • 75 gr margarine
  • 150 gr sugar
  • 2 eggs (S)\
  • Dash of vanilla essence
  • 200 ml condensed milk (sweeetened)
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon bakin soda
  • Zest and juice of one medium orange
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 75 gr raisins soaked in 25 ml rum

To make this cake, I didn't try very hard. I simply mixed the ingredients in the order they appear on the list above.

  1. Mix together the margarine and sugar.

  2. Add the eggs, vanilla essence and condensed milk and mix.

  3. Add the flour and fold until well mixed.

  4. Add the baking soda and the orange zest and juice, and see how they make air.

  5. Fold.

image.png

  6. Add the raisins and rum and fold again.

image.png

I poured the batter into two greased baking trays and let them bake for 40 minutes at 300 degrees F.

image.png

They turned out pretty good.

image.png

The cake was going to be our dessert. Once the cakes were in the oven, I got to work on a simple pea soup.

I chopped onions, beef, bacon, and smoked chorizo.

image.png

Cooked the peas in the pressure cooker for 35 minutes, and then added potatoes and carrots.

image.png

Then I add the meats, which I had cooked in a separate pot with enough paprika.

image.png

Our soup was ready in less than an hour. Peas die hard.

image.png

After eating our soup, there was no rrom for dessert, so we ate the cake like three hours after that, at 7 p.m., with coffee.
Since I removed half a cup of flour from the mixture, the raisins went to the bottom a little bit. Normally this does not happen with plum cakes, since the mixture does not have water in it, so it is very thick.

image.png

These were the highlights of my food-day.
I hope you have delicious and healthy meals today in good company :)

Hola, @mireyalongart. Las tortas con pasas me encantan con o sin naranja, pero con la naraja y la ralladura, saben a Toma2. No sé si recuerdas esas galletas. Divinas.
