Sara's kitchen - Moussaka
Today I had something delicious for lunch, easy to prepare and everyone loves it, today I prepared moussaka, of course I am not alone but my grandmother who is a master in the kitchen helped me with that and I adore her dishes. Let's see how my grandmother prepared it.
about 2kg of potatoes
600 g minced meat (beef, pork, combined)
two finely chopped onions
a clove of garlic
4 eggs
half a liter of milk
oil
spices: salt, pepper, red pepper, parsley, basil.
First, the potatoes are prepared for moussaka, the potatoes are peeled and washed or put in water, I peeled about 2kg of potatoes.
Then the onion is prepared, nicely simmered, and before that peeled and chopped, the onion is simmered over low heat until it becomes completely soft.
If the meat is frozen, leave it to melt beforehand, as I did, add it when the onion softens.
Peeled potatoes chop.
Soak the chopped potatoes in water and wash them a little.
When the onion is done, add 600g of meat and fry a little and combine with the onion.
Add about 3 tablespoons of rice and spices to this delicious combination.
You can start arranging the chopped potatoes, try to arrange them as nicely as possible, and have a few cavities as possible so that the filling of meat, onions, and other spices stays in between as well as possible.
when you have finished arranging the first layer of potatoes, you can start applying the filling.
This is how it should look like
After the filling comes to another row of chopped potatoes, try to arrange it as nicely as possible because it will turn out tastier.
The whole moussaka is topped with one magic sauce, which is egg and milk. Although it sounds simple, this egg and milk juice moussaka give taste and smell.
