Preparing African Recipe: Oha soup 🍛

Today, i'm going to take you down to African down to Nigeria, for a popular recipe prepared and eaten, especially from the south-south and Eastern part of Nigeria. This recipe is known as Oha Soup. It is enjoyed mostly with any kind of swallow and i bet you it's taste is irresistable 😋.
Apart from the fact it is delicious, it also has so many health benefit. So hang on as i take you through this journey.
Ingredients
- Fresh fish (of your choice), here i used Mackerel, or meat
- uziza leaves /Parsley leaves (optional)
- Oha leaves /African Rosewood leaves
- Palm oil
Fresh pepper, 3 cubes of seasoning, a small bulb of onion
thickener (You can choose to use any thickener of your choice. Some people use cocoyam, others use oatmeal, but i used ofor)
Dried fish
PREPARATION
*Step 1
Getting the Ingredients Ready
Start by washing and spicing our meat or fish
We proceed to plucking, washing and slicing the leaves
Uziza leaf
Oha leaf
Diced onions
We're blending our fresh pepper and crayfish together
Washed and prepared dried fish
Step 2
- Cooking the food
First put a reasonable amount of water in the pot and place on fire, then add the diced onions and palm oil and allow to boil
adding thickener, stir and allow to boil
Adding dried fish, stir and allow to boil for about two minutes
Adding blended fresh pepper and stir
Adding seasonal cubes and salt to taste, then stir
allow to boil and always stir
adding uziza leaf and stir
allow to boil for like 10seconds
then add oha leaf
stir and allow to boil for 10seconds
- our oha soup is ready to be consumed
