Model Kit Review, Airfix 1/144 scale Boeing Clipper Flying Boat
Hello steemians!
It's been a few months since I've written a post on steemit, I decided to post another one of my model kit reviews here for your considerations.
This model kit review is for an older Airfix kit for a 1/144 scale Boeing Clipper, which was a pre WW2 passenger carrying "flying boat", as this type of aircraft was known as. The flying boat has a lower fuselage that is built in the shape of a boat hull. The airplane lands and takes off from the water.
In the 1920s and 30s, a number of different kinds of float planes and flying boats were developed for both military service, and for carrying passengers across large bodies of water.
The Boeing Clipper was developed to carry passengers across the Atlantic ocean in comfort and safety. If the plane developed mechanical trouble during flight, it could land on the ocean. The Boeing Clipper was built from 1938 to 1941. The aircraft had a standard flight range of 3500 miles, making it capable of crossing the Atlantic ocean. The Boeing Clipper was used for fast luxury transportation across the Atlantic ocean during a time when the other choice was travel by boat, a much slower option.
Here is my video for this model kit review, it's about 9 and 3/4 minutes long. This video was posted to my youtube channel back in November.
Thanks for checking out this post and my video! I hope you found it interesting!

I was wondering why you hadn't been around - welcome back
Pretty handy that it can land on water if there is a problem - my sort of plane
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Thanks!
Owh hello sir.. You are my favorite steemian, I think few months you didn't look active here, but I really happy that I can read your writing again... Always in healthy sir... 😇👍
Thank you! :-)
I used to do a lot of Airfix building. I just found my paints the other day.
The Mosquito was my favourite - seems to have gone up a lot in price since I last bought one...
After 5 years on the platform I have recently launched a Steem witness - @pennsif.witness.
As a witness I am running a Full API Node and a Seed Node. Together with the @steemwow team I have also launched Press4Steem, a plugin to connect WordPress sites with Steem.
It would be great if you are able to support my work by giving one of your witness votes to @pennsif.witness.
Thank you
Pennsif
The price of model kits seem to have gone up a fair amount in the past several years, along with everything else, I suppose.
I put a vote on your witness. It's just about the only witness that I have a vote on right now. I don't know who else I would vote on, all the old witnesses that I had on my list are gone from steem now.
Thank you for supporting @pennsif.witness. It is much appreciated.
