Rainy Day?............. NW Cascade Wanderings

I woke up sometime in the night to hear rain hitting the metal roof on the woodshed just outside the bedroom window and the leaves of the big leaf maple trees in the surrounding area. It was extremely soothing and I soon fell back to sleep. It was just after 8:00 when I woke up and almost 9:00 before I could drag myself out of bed. It was still raining and the sound was very soothing. We needed this rain badly and I decided to enjoy the weather to the fullest extent! ☔️☔️☔️

Some folks (@silvertop in particular) don’t care for rainy weather. It’s only one day in the line of many sunny days, so I say just get over it!! You’ll have sun and then heat and humidity which is worse in my opinion, dear! 🥰

Due to an Amazon return that had to go to the UPS store in Bellingham, we set out to take that and then headed down to the Bellingham Yacht Club and the Bellwether Hotel. See @silvertop’s post for pictures and details of the hotel.

There were lots of flowers and grasses along the paved walking trail skirting the hotel grounds and the yacht club.

We watched this boat as it slowly made its way from the mooring area……

….until it made its way out to the more open Bay Area.

It may have been headed to open water as it appears to be from California.

The rain at that point was just a mist and not too bad to be out in. The area is beautiful but based on the pricing of the hotel rooms at the Bellwether, you need a bit of cash to stay!

Now as I type, it is still raining and I am still enjoying it. By the end of the week our highs for the day will go from the cool 67 degrees of today to close to 90 degrees by Friday. That’s too hot!🥵

Alas, fall will be here before we know it and then the rainy season will be upon us. At some point, I will tire of it, but for now, I’ll enjoy the change for today. 😁
