The Sunset Of Another Year............. NW Cascade Wanderings

Tomorrow will mark the last day in 2024. For many, they can’t wait for it to end and the New Year to begin as perhaps 2024 wasn’t the kindest to them. Others will hate to see it go as it was a wonderful year for them. And, still others won’t care either way, as it was neither good nor bad.

I see it as the closing of another chapter in life; with both wonderful things and some not so wonderful. The New Year always brings the promise of hope- that things will be better all around. That perhaps, one might land that dream job or get that long awaited promotion. Or, perhaps you are looking for a simpler, less rushed life.

I might have to choose that last suggestion as to how I’d like to see 2025 play out. There are so many nooks and crannies as to what that could mean, but I would like to feel less stressed; less time crunched; more time for savoring life as it seriously speeds up the older you get! Time to enjoy the smaller, simple things.

Tomorrow also makes the anniversary of @silvertop’s and my blind date. I guess you could say it stuck! Where have all the years gone, dear? ❤️

We are planning a coffee date tomorrow and will quietly watch the old year pass away and the new one dawn. There’s no place I’d rather be than with my best friend! 😘

So, I leave you tonight to contemplate how you see the new year coming at you. Make your plans but whatever you do, don’t forget to stop and smell the roses!

Here’s some of our pet photos (and one imaginary pet) to hopefully make you smile. Enjoy!

Phoenix and Banjo belong to our youngest son and his wife, but they are definitely part of our pet family!

That’s gonna be it for me. Take care and enjoy the last few remaining hours of 2024! 🙏🌎🙏

NLT 1 Peter 1:23-25

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. As the Scriptures say,
“People are like grass;
their beauty is like a flower in the field.
The grass withers and the flower fades.
But the word of the Lord remains forever.”
