"Life is filled with work, should I quit?"

Introduction

I remember this week's Tuesday, 15th October, I resumed at my work place. Immediately I got to the school where I work, I felt this weakness and unusual laziness in me. My colleague who saw me just asked, "Mrs Ntoe, are you ok? You're not looking bright."

Deep inside of me, I knew I was tired. I told her I needed motivation to do the job because I had just faded up. We both laughed it off, to her, they were just mere words, but I knew I was serious. I honestly had a very rough day throughout the whole day. It almost repeated yesterday Thursday, but I had to summon courage so that it won't affect my relationship with the students I teach.

Reason for the loss of interest

When I joined the school, I was told they usually have meetings twice a month. The first and last week Fridays which will be for general meetings, while the second week will be for the secondary school section where I am a teacher. The meeting was just followed for a few months. Since then, there have been general meetings almost every Friday.

Last Friday last week, I was preparing to leave when one of the teachers said there was a meeting going on. Do you know the most annoying thing in these meetings? It's usually after school when you should go home to rest. The meeting can run for 2–3 hours or even more. The school is usually dismissed by 2pm for students, and the meeting will begin from that time till 5 or past 5 o'clock, such that some people will get to their homes by 6pm. This is a place where teachers resume before 7:30am and dismiss by 3pm, and if you're involved in special lessons you close by 4pm.

I personally feel the job has taken my whole day because, by the time I get home, I'll have to prepare food for my family and if I have other religious activities to attend I'll just manage to and then retire back home to prepare for the next day. I have no single time to rest or have a good time for myself.

All I do is get to work, and when I get home, I'll either be cooking for my family or I attend church meetings and then get back. Then, get into bed or be on steemit. Before you know it, I'll be tired such that I'll sleep late sometimes because I need to engage on other people's posts.

On the other hand, someone will envy teachers and feel that we have holidays. No! During the holidays, you'll have to comply with the school holiday lessons because I need to be paid for the holidays. If not so, you maybe denied payment or you'll be issued a query or sacked papers.

So, as a teacher, a wife and a mother, a church leader and as a steemian, I work almost round the clock just to put everything in balance.

Life is filled with Work but, I can't Quit

Many times, I have thought of resigning from the job due to stress and other matters involved, but I just looked round and realise I need to keep the job because there are no jobs. And so, I keep pushing because I have no single option.
