"What do you think about organ donation? "

Welcome to my blog. This is an interesting one to talk about. First of all, we need to understand what an organ is. These are major or key players in every human body system. They represent the life wire of every living being. This means that compromising one of them puts the life of the person in danger.

Over time, we all know that we are not infallible given we are mortals. There are times when we have complications and system failure. There are moments when we are required to have a replacement for some of our organs due to their failures. Our first points of contact are usually our families to come to our aid.

There are also sometimes this isn't tenable either because they refused due to fears or other reasons or there is no match for what is required. In such cases, organ shopping is initiated by the appropriate medical facility to help source compatible ones. All these boil down to what we now know as organ donation.

There is simply nothing wrong with organ donation given the overwhelming importance this has offered to the sustainability of mankind by ensuring longevity. But just as abuse is imminent, this has been bastardized to an extent that it has become a lucrative business with the cost of acquiring each of these organs. We now have organ harvesters on the spree who discretely put human lives on the line.

I could remember sometime in my country when the news had it that a cartel of human harvesters was squashed. In this case, it was a medical practitioner who was the architect of this inhumane practice. He will book in his patience for surgical operations and other minor medical attention but he will end up removing one of their kidneys.

This menace continued for years before it was boasted through one of his patients who dictated this foul play when his system started failing. One could only imagine the scenario and what this patient would become if he survived later. This has become a drug cartel venture because of the large sums of rewards that wait for organ providers. There are other boasted cases in the country with similar modus operandi.

In some cases, we see cases of ritualists making and increasing the frequency of this crime. We cannot also play numb to this activity in the Sahara regions which are characterized by desert spaces. Migrants using this path have been severely warned of the heinous crimes committed along this axis.

As much as I support this technological advancement tailored towards giving mankind a lifeline, the government should make concerted efforts to discourage this black market drive for organ donation. There are better ways of doing so where other human lives aren't threatened.

There should be an outright ban that discourages the use of human organs from non-solicited sources. In doing so, there should be capital purnishment reserved for all culprits.

Thank you, friends...
