Steem Market Promo : Visiting Shops and Introducing Samuel to steemit

Greetings everyone,

I did some promo work around the market in Kumasi and was delighted to teach a few people about the platform. The good thing about wearing the t-shirt in such public places is that it is able to attract attention so you can easily educate people about it. And that was just what I did.

As I spent some time within the Kejetia market, I felt hungry and therefore decided to get a drink at the new cafeteria they have opened. It is really good.

I then visited a few sections of the market where I sparked some small talks about steemit and social media with the shopkeepers there. It becomes a challenge when the individual is not technologically sound and therefore would be very difficult to teach them all about the steemit ecosystem. Sometimes, simple typing is an issue for some of these traders.

And another challenge we face is that since scamming has become rampant in our soceity, there are several people who are afraid to engage in anything that has to do with the internet. But the good thing is that, the educated once mostly welcome it.

By and by, I finally met this man who sells footwear who was very interested in the idea. I explained to him about the similarity of steemit to other social media platforms out there as well as the potential of earning some rewards as well.

I then introduced him to the idea of his shop possibly accepting steem very soon and he was very open to the idea but wants to better understand the platform first which I am more than happy to help with.

We then looked at the platform and then I helped him to create an account. First things first, I helped him to secure all his keys but we had some network issues with his device. This also meant that couldn't do the achievement one verification so we exchanged contacts and he will be making an intro post very soon.
