The Diary Game || Late Nights, Canceled Tests, and Sweet Surprises

Last night, I had been studying late because I had a ward test today. For the last 30 days, I've had a medicine ward rotation. Taking histories, making diagnoses, clinical examinations, and having classes daily meant I had to memorize a lot. Anyways, when I tried to sleep, I couldn't because I was a bit anxious. My brother plays video games all night, so I decided to have some FIFA matches with him, hoping to tire myself out and sleep afterward. We started at 2 am. I lost the first match because I was tired and couldn't concentrate. Anyways, I decided to play more and won the 3-match series by 2-1. It was 4 am when my father saw me awake and scolded me for being up so late, especially since I had a paper in the morning. So, I finally went to sleep.

Waking up in the morning is the most difficult task for me, especially after sleeping late. Anyways, I got myself up, ready, and went to university. I attended the first lecture, and then all the clinical group mates and I went to the hospital for our ward test. But, oops, it got canceled for unknown reasons, and the professor told us to take histories today as well. To be honest, I was so sleepy and tired, taking patient histories was not fun at all today.

Above all, the weather in my city has been really hot for the last few weeks. Preventing yourself from getting dehydrated in such a hectic schedule is a very difficult job. As the hospital is a government facility, forget the AC; even the fans don't work well enough to stop us from sweating. So, I went immediately to the library afterward. It was really cool there. I planned to study but literally passed out and slept for 3 hours straight. After waking up, I thought of ordering a burger and a mango shake. To be honest, both were absolutely fantastic and gave me the energy I had been lacking since the morning.

After finishing up there, I thought of studying. I studied for 2 hours when I got a call from my dad, reminding me about my uncle's daughter's engagement. To be honest, it had slipped my mind that today was the engagement. I told him I’d be joining them soon. I left the university immediately, went to my friend's house directly, changed there, and got myself ready.

I reached the venue at 10 pm when the guests had already arrived. It was a little awkward since I was supposed to be the host and was carrying a big school bag on my back. Anyways, I was greeted warmly by my uncle, met everyone, and took some pictures.

I had eaten well at lunch, but I was hungry again, triggered by the smell of delicious food. To be honest, the dinner was too good. I ate kachori after quite some time. Also, the kebabs and paratha were excellent.

After dinner, I was engaged by my younger cousins. They are really cute, Masha Allah. They also gave me some sweets to eat. I took some photos with them.

They also led me to the stage where the event was happening. I greeted my aunty and many relatives, ate gulaab jamun, and gave a gift from my family to the bride. There were already many gifts, and although I got there late, it was better to give something than nothing.

So overall my day was full of unexpected turns and memorable events. From sleeping late last night because of FIFA match to getting the ward test cancelled and sleeping in the library, experienced a whirlwind of events and emotions. Despite of my tiredness and the initial stress, spending time with loved ones, family and friends, eating delicious food and making memories everyday leave the biggest impact on our mood and behavior. As now I am writing my todays story and laying down to sleep, I felt grateful for the day and looking forward to what tomorrow might bring. I hope you enjoyed reading about my todays event. Thankyou. Until Next time
