Weekly Reflections #26: A Fresh Start - What Will You Do Differently in 2025?

Greetings to you my amazing friends and steemians of this beautiful community. Trusting God we are all doing good? I pray that this year 2025 will be a year of divine breakthrough for us all. As we begin this year on a fresh note, I pray that God see us through and help us achieve our various goals.

What’s one thing you learned last year that you are proud of?

The year 2024 came along with so many challenges to the point I kept asking myself if I will be able to push through and truly as the saying goes, "the greatest motivation is yourself, the only thing that can limit you from achieving anything is your mindset". Despite the hurdles of last year, I'm very proud to say I've learnt a lot of things last year. Some were hands-on-skills, some were knowledge acquire while others were lessons learnt.
In all this, the one thing I've learnt which I'm super proud of is the hands-on-skills I acquired last year.

Presently, I'm a certified satellite dish installer. So far, I've been able to install a few satellite dishes in my area. Some called for maintenance and I got the problem fixed within a couple of just minutes. I'm super proud of myself for this acquired skill as it is a part of my side hustle.

What key area of your life do you want to change or improve this year?

Talking about key areas I would want to change or improve, I would love to change my eating habits and improve on my financial savings. I just got to discover that a greater percentage of my income is being spend on eating outside. I would want to change the habit of eating out, starting cooking my own meals which I feel will cut down most of my spendings thus making me save more. In so doing, I will be able to improve on my savings.

Are there any habits or skills you plan to develop in the new year?

Yeah. I've got a few skills I plan to develop this this year. The first is cyber security which is one of the digital skills I've been planning to develop. I've already enrolled for the next session which will be starting first week of February, 2025. I needed this skill so as to protect people's data and systems against cyber hacks which have become a great concern in this present time.

I'm also planning to develop a skill on solar panel installation. Nigeria is blessed with so many natural resources, one of which is it's abundant sun. Over time, I've noticed that we hardly use the some many resources at our disposal, thereby allowing them to lay in waste.

With the high cost of electric and unstable power supply in the country, a lot of people are begining to divert their attention from the government generated electricity to their own personal generated power supply. The law in the country permits individuals to generate their own electricity.
So with this, acquiring a skill on solar panel installation will be a great advantage for me as so many people have now starting opting for solar powers.

Describe your vision and plan to achieve at the end of this year

Oh yes, once again, this year will be my year of divine breakthrough. First to achieve all this, I will need to cut down a few habits like eating outside and cooking my own meals as this will save me some cash.
Since I've already enrolled in a cyber security master class, from my savings, I'll ensure I get all the study materials needed and ensure I'm up to date with all cyber security threats.
Once I graduate from the cyber security class, I'll enroll into another class to learn solar panel installation. God helping me, I'll ensure I achieve all these before the year comes to an end.
