Diary,

I am writing you with a heart full of Joy to share my day with you. How are you? I believe you are great. 19th of November 2024 was about me supporting a brother with the runs in preparation for his traditional wedding. We grew up together with the groom-to-be and stayed together in the same apartment during our university days, and the brother of the groom-to-be is married to my blood sister, therefore, we're in-laws; you see, he is more like a brother to me.

I received a call from him on the 18th of November, and he said he was going to his inlaw's on the 19th and that he needed me to assist with the runs by driving him to places he could purchase items for the traditional wedding because 20th of November is the Day for payment of dowry and his traditional wedding, which I would still update you.

I drove from my house to where he was and picked him up. He needed to get some of the traditional items for the payment of dowry, though he had already purchased most of the items with the help of his father-in-law. A Carton of wine and alcohol, 25 liters of palm oil, mayonnaise, cabbage, and groundnut oil were a few items we picked from his brother's, which happens to be my sister's while picking him up. The remaining items were to be picked from Ikot Mfon, his paternal home.

Ikot Mfon is a village in Etinan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. This is the home of the first democratic Governor of Akwa Ibom state, AKPAN Isemin. We drove about forty minutes from Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom state, to Etinan. When we got there, Fufu( fermented cassava), and Afang leaves were a few items we picked from Etinan. We spent some minutes at his place because his mother and uncle needed to know how his traditional wedding would be, so they asked him for directions to Esit Ekit which is the home of his wife-to-be. After here, we left for Ikpa town in Esit Eket.

Esit Eket is a part of the Eket Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. This is the home of the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Mr Udom Emmanuel. We drove about thirty minutes from Etinan to Esit Ekit, and when we got there, his father-in-law was not around, so we had to wait for him, but while waiting, we removed the items we brought from the trunk of the car. The Wife-to-be of my brother showed us some hospitalities, by giving us dinner and a beer to drink. After a while, his father-in-law returned, and he highlighted to my brother how the 20th of November, his traditional wedding day, would be and the things he needed my brother to do.

We left for Uyo at about 6:30 pm, and when we got home, we took our bath and slept so that we would be sound for the next day, which happened to be his traditional wedding. I will update you on the traditional wedding.

This has been my diary! Thank you very much for reading.

Best regards
