Save The World: my activities in preventing global warming".

Greetings to the steemians in the house. It's yet another opportunity brought to us by @irawandedy to encourage and share our little effort toward saving our dear planet from global warming. Remain blessed as you read through.

What have you done to save the earth?

The earth is already in a mess as it has been taken over by global warming. Although we are the ones suffering the consequences, we contribute a lot towards promoting it through our daily activities. The trees we cut down, the water bodies we spoil, the air we pollute, and the land we pollute all contribute to fast-growing global warming.

In as much as the damage that was done has already been done, it is still within our power to prevent more of it and even eradicate it from the only earth we have to live. These can be done through various activities such as

• the planting of trees
• Prevention of erosion
• Keep water, air, and the land from pollution.
• Recycling of waste materials
• Using hydroelectric cars instead of the ones that release gases into the atmosphere.

Talking about the part I play in the prevention of global warming, I can tell you that over the years, I have played many roles and I do it daily. A few of the activities include planting trees, refilling the holes made by erosion, taking part in community sanitation, and staying away from the use of firewood to cook.

How do you do it

I perform the activity of planting a tree by first going to the market to buy a small tree of my choice. To plant it, I have to dig a hole and put the roots inside before covering it. If it's during the dry season, I water it twice daily (morning and evening). As for sanitation, my community has set a day aside for all its members to gather together and go around the community, picking and sweeping any dirty surroundings. I often take part in it.

For the prevention of erosion, I used to fill a bag with sand and put it inside the hole that was dug by erosion. Talking about recycling, I have used plastic rubbers to create something that I use to store my writing materials and also used cardboard to make greeting cards.

What is the form of attention from the government and the community around you?

The government and also the community around us are aware of the growing global warming, and I'm happy that they have not folded their hands towards it. In an attempt to prevent the disaster, the government has made it a crime for anyone to cut down a tree without permission from government officials. They have also made it a rule for everybody to plant at least 2 trees in a year. More than that, they organize programs to enlighten people on the danger of global warming and how it can be prevented.
