Adventures in 2024(a visit to my aunt's new environment)
A warm and lovely greetings to my fellow steemians colleagues and friends around the world, how are you all doing today? Hope you are are fine and healthy as for me am amazing, by the way I'm john from Nigeria it's my pleasure having you guys all in this amazing contest "Adventures in 2024" organized by @irawandedy here at #Steem-For-Betterlife.
I decided to take part in this amazing contest to share my experience and adventure as well as bringing out the best in me when it comes to creativity and story narration.
Adventure as the contest name implies was defined by Wikipedia as an exciting experience or undertaking that is typically bold, sometimes risky.
My adventure story today will be on the visit to my aunt's place.
It was Easter holiday when I decided to pay my elder sister first time visit to her new home since she got married 5months ago I have not seen her, She lives at Ogbeke village, Nike LGA Enugu state Nigeria, As we all know that first time visit to a new environment or place is always bored and strange because you have not been there bbefore and at the same time you are not familiar with the things and people living there, but what makes it better and easy was that am an extrovert and I like meeting and making new friends wherever I found my self, so that day when I got there the journey was so stressful and am also stress out I didn't go out.
The next day morning when I woke up I did my morning ritual that's praying to God, then went to the sitting room to greet my aunty and her husband because there are the only ones at home and the they will be living for work any time soon and I will be the only one at home, so after greetings them, I went to brush my teeth and then carry on with some house chores.
After everything I decided to sit outside so as to see some passer by that I can make as friend immediately when I got out I saw one of our neighbor son who was at my age but he was going to the farm so we have to greet each other at the same time share identity which he said his name is samuel, so he promised to check on me ones he comes back from farm.
It was about 3pm when I was resting and chatting with my friends on Whatsapp, I held a knock on the door when I checked it was my aunt so I have to open the door for her to come in after she must have rest a little bit, I now told her about the Samuel she was surprised and she said she was about introducing him to me as somebody I can always talk when am bored it wasn't long when I saw him coming towards our door post I have to open the door before he knock, so him and my aunt reciprocated greetings and he told my aunt that he will be going out with me to show my round the village which my aunt accepted and we left a short while.
He started by showing me around some interesting parts of the village, which I know he showed me many places but I will be sharing only few pictures and story that the interesting ones.
- the first place he showed me was where garri is been processed, which he explained the steps and procedures of making it to me, though it wasn't new to me because I already know about that before.
- He also showed me around the village market that most of the villagers buy and sell their products, the market was few that day because it was not the day of their main market but at least you can still find some people there, after showing me a lot I was tire and exhausted so have to start going home and leave the rest for another day.
- the next day Samuel ask me to accompany him to watch water from the village spring called nnukwu- mmiri which means great water in Igbo language, I have to accompany him because I too will also be needing some water, according to him this spring is very popular and well known by the villager and the neighboring village because of the long existence of this water made it more popular, this particular water is known to run through out the rainy and dry season non stop.
Truth be told this particular spring water is very neat and clean that I even have drink from it, but the problem associated with the water is lack of maintenance and again the road leading to it is very bad that most people especially the aged ones can not go there otherwise you will come back with broken or dislocated legs and hand.
During our walk around the village I usually uses my cellphone to take some pictures with my phone for memories and history purpose and I know I really learnt a lot from that village,
I have come to the end of this contest and I will like to invite my fellow steemians @josepha, @solperez, @ctime, to take part in this contest thanks
