Writing good quality posts! This is the answer to the question I am constantly being asked. “What must I do?”
Vote and comment on the posts of fellow Steemians! This my friends are the answer to the second question. “How can I get votes?”
Take part in contests! This is the answer to the last question. “How must I do it?”
If you want to be successful on Steemit you need to create a name for yourself and this you do by;
1. writing quality posts
2. commenting and voting on posts
3. taking part in contests
I have already covered the first two points and if you have missed my posts the links are at the bottom of this post.
Today we take a closer look at contests on Steemit.

You might think of various reasons why Steemians hosts contests for example boosting interaction. The main reason is just like with any business, to attract attention. If you attract attention the rest will follow.
That is then also why contests are mainly hosted in specific communities.
Contests allow Steemians to be more involved, creating a buzz in a community and the network. It makes visits to a community a memorable experience.

There are numerous advantages.
- You will gain experience

- You can "show and tell" what you are good at
- You can learn from other Steemians
- It is a way in which to o learn that we are all different
- Steemians will get to know about you
- Just like with other social media platforms you can grow your followers
- You can grow your earnings through the various rewards
- It is the quickest way to make friends on Steemit
There are also disadvantages.
- Taking part in contests, especially the engagement challenges can easily lead to you being stressed out.
- We cannot all be winners so yah, there will moments of disappointment when you don’t make it to the winner’s platform
- Admin and moderators are not always fair in the voting and their reviews
- You are not the only one competing

Entering contests can be a lot of fun therefore you must find the right contest for you. I often see entries to a contest but it is clear that the author doesn’t have a clue what he is writing about.
Finding the right contest on Steemit is extremely easy. You just need to read one post a day and that you do by following @disconnect.
Don’t waste your precious time searching the contest every day, Disconnected Rat can smell the contests and rat through everywhere.
For those of you who don’t know, the Rat shared his 480th Active Contest List yesterday!
In these posts, you will get a list of contests for the weekly set out under the expiring date with a clickable link to the contest, the reward, and the name of the Steemian who organized the contest.
All that remains is for you to go through the list and decide which contests will suit you best.
|
---|
- Find the correct contest for you and make sure that you will be able to compete to your best. If you cannot find something this week there will always be something the next week.
- You have to do your homework. So often you need to do some research about the topic. Especially when you get those contests from the crypto professors.
- Make sure you understand what is expected from the topic and follow the guidelines.
- Look at the other entries. So often you can learn from them.
- Write your own post. No plagiarism!
- There is nothing wrong with asking your family or friends for advice. They are often the ones who will be honest with you.
- If you write with confidence writing the post will be a breeze.
- It pays to be different!
- I’ve noticed on Steemit that most of the contest entries are posted near the closing date. Post your entry as early as possible. If you are entering the engagement challenges first enter those contests that you are comfortable with.
- Forget about the results! Think about what you are doing and stay focused on the task.
- The first impression is the lasting impression. Make an eye-catching statement with the main image and the introduction paragraph.
- Don’t use #contest as a tag if you enter a contest. It is only to be used in the announcement of contests.
- Read the rules!! I am sure the Admin and MOD’s of the communities are going to be happy with this one. You cannot expect a win if your entry doesn’t apply to ALL the rules of the contest.
- Understand the rules! It doesn’t help you read the rules but you don’t understand them. If you have a question, ask. You will not only help yourself but other Steemians also.
- Know the deadline!
- Give it your 100% and enjoy what you are doing.
- If you support other entries with votes and comments you will also receive.
- Accept the outcome and DO NOT argue about it. If you do not succeed with your entry, don’t give up! Go for the next one!
You can only gain in Steemit if you enter a contest!
Good luck!
Greetings..
Clearly this is the best guide for contest participants. I can attest to the fact @disconnect is the best place to farm for contest and I am one of his biggest fan.
Off a truth, contest results will not always go your way, your post might not even get a booming, but the engagement is designed in a way we support each other with upvotes and comments, thus, no one is going empty handed as long as we engage with each others post. Which brought about my we all need each other post.
Like always, your article is explicitly written and I entirely agree with you. Thank you for sharing this incredible writing with us.
Do have a wonderful day.❤
Awh thank you! I appreciate your feedback on my posts.
I’ve seen many of your contest entries and I can gladly say that you are one of the Steemians who follow the rules of the contests to the T!
Well done!
You are right, in Steemit we all need each other!
Thank you, a beautiful day, what is left of it, to you also. Chocolate 🍫
Thank you feeding the rat some cheese.. ❤❤
;-))
You made my day!
Thanks - and have a nice weekend!
Thank you for your loving support. I really appreciate.
Truly an article that can serve as a guide for contest participants..and I like the best part that you advise not to stress about the contest results. I totally agree with that. Thank you for sharing this great article and as a motivation and reminder
Thank you for the visit, the engagement, and the kind words. 🌼
As long as I can help my fellow Steemians it gives me pleasure.
I’ve seen so many contest entries which were wrong. With a bit of help I’m sure the authors will be on the lookout to comply with the rules etc.
I'm agree with you my friends.. just continue your good work. Be kind as always.
Have agreat day for you..
This is a really great guide to us who are still new on this platform and i have learnt a lot fabout contests i hope to put this lessons to practice
Now it is time for you to… go… go… go!
Find that contest and enter!
Good luck 🤞🏻
Interesting..!!.., unfortunately many users don't focus on contest instructions these days.
Worse, they don't check if its a topic they are familiar with.., that makes it hard to give a real value to that contest.
I hope this your publication reach a wider reach.
Good morning!
I hope you are feeling better this morning.
I agree with you. I see the wrong contest entries almost every day.
Fingers cross that more can learn from this post🤞🏻
Truly amazing! I love to feature this post in the list as a guidance for participants.
Thanks my friend! Go for it!
It will be an honor. (•ิ‿•ิ)
Another quality post with very important tips . Thank you ma.
Awh thank you!
I’m happy if I can help 🌼
This right here👆is everything. Somethings we write, not because of the upvotes or wins but because of the people that receives oir message, and that alone keeps is going.
These are such true words!
It is when we write like this that we right from the heart and get the best results.
Thanks for the visit! 🎕
Thanks for pointing on this, and especially for giving a short glimpse on the disadvantages! Everyone should clearly know the "risk" of his/her engagement in a contest.
One question, please:
You wrote: "Post your entry as early as possible."
Why should one do so?
In other points of your article you stress on looking for the posts of the co-competitors. So it could seem better to post one's own contribution at a later time, doesn't it?
Thanks for the question!
Dit klink voor die hand liggend!
Haha! Inderdaad! (•ิ‿•ิ)
