AID

I was learning a skill known as Barbing in the year 2023 and at some point I was developing tension in barbing some men, my boss noticed this immediately and always advised and motivated me never to be scared, he said I need to believe in myself and I need to learn faster so that my self-confidence can be high.

Sometimes some men will want to have a nice hair cut and my boss will direct them to me, telling them am an experienced barber and I will barb them well.

I will still be scared but I won't show it out, I was always composing myself, I will begin to barb the men and my boss will look at me and signal me to be very careful. Most times I end doing well and the men derive joy to the extent to pay double, for the service I rendered to them.

This really helped me alot, my boss was always making sure that I barb people's hair everyday even though I don't really look like a barber since am wearing eyeglass. Here in Nigeria, barbers don't have eye problem.

I invite @m-fdo, @imadear and @udyliciouz

This sounded exactly like my boss
And this really helped us in our learning cause without doing it yourself you won’t be able to know. You need to have your own experience and also learn from where you did wrong and improve on it.

Yh, learning isn't easy at all as we have different patterns of learning. Thanks for stopping by.

That is very true, you have to do it to know how it feels and it shouldn't be a problem if we make mistakes since we all have to learn. Good to hear you had a helpful employer as well.

Yeah
My boss was the best and good at his work
Always making sure we achieve what we came for. Encouraging us to do better and also correct ourselves when done.

I can't imagine there are no barbers with eye problems but i can tell you I saw barbers and hairdressers do awful jobs including cutting ears and burnings in the face because of the products they use. Turns ous that although many go it is one of the biggest factors. It must be because once hair or face is messed up you can't change it (for the time being).

It sounds to me like your employer saw your talent and didn't forget to encourage you from the sideline. I must say that is what I rarely see. My hat off to your employer and have self-confidence!

Thanks for joining and helping me!

You will hardly see young guys in Nigeria that wears eyeglass, making a decision of learning a barbing skill because alot of Nigerians will underestimate them.

I summoned courage to learn the skill even if I wear eyeglass as a result of eye defects, many customers refused to allow me to barb their hair and I felt bad sometimes but my employer kept on encouraging me.

Trust me soon enough over 70 percent of the population will wear glasses if not more. I rather have someone with glasses than bad eyesight. I know plenty with very bad eyesight, not wearing glasses and driving around, highway 120 km/hrs, and walking around like "blind horses". It's dangerous but also true is that many can no longer afford to buy it. The only plus with us is that you no longer have to visit an eye specialist first (not from a certain age on) which is very expensive. Important is that you can see and how great it is thatexistsxist.

Yeah you are right, eyeglasses are now expensive, I always pay the bills sometimes each time my mum and I go to see my eye doctor and each time we go there the bills increases. Here in Nigeria things increases every week and this is bad.

There are people who managed themselves without buying glasses and I pray God keeps on giving them the grace to survive and also bless them so that they can have money to buy glasses.

I have seen barbers in YouTube who wear glasses but not in African country, the barber is from either USA or Canada but he's black.

Be happy you have them and you are good in what you do and people can still afford to pay for it. More and more can't with us and the shops are closing and nothing comes in return. We all do it at home or let it be. It is the same for many things: baker, plumber, housekeeping, laundry, we do it ourselves but we still run out of money.

Anyway I just hope things get better for human beings, the world isn't easy at all.
