RE: Contest | 25-Word-Comment - Monkey Business | Aid - 6 Steem
I can do tasks but I lack time and these things I think: it can wait plus it is warm and I have other priorities. I do the laundry to or tell my son to do it since most of him is his anyway.
I did the wooden roofs two summers ago, hanging around and climbing over it. I can't tell the difference today and it was expensive. Now i think: is it worth the money again?
Same for the house, I repaired the walls, sort of, and had to try out different materials what I used now is still stuck to the wall but it has to be finished and next to be painted pffff
Paint is expensive, the quality is bad and I had the intention to paint a dragon covering one of the buildings, it was even drawn on it by my daughter but by now the rain and snow removed it plus the wolves make the wolves muddy... what can I say? If I close my eyes I don't see it and at least I save myself time, energy, and money... next to that those cores are neverending.
I saw I forgot to change the English word which should be "aid". Do you need help with the house chores? I could use some but I was also thinking about all the aid giving on Steemit. Is it worth it and what happens to those Steemians who received it?
Wow. You're unstoppable. Is there any mountain you can't climb?
I just think I've just become too old for "tasks". But then again, just getting up out of bed in the morning is now somewhat of a task. Thankfully my life is arranged in such a way as to minimize tasks.
A fairly good list of synonyms for task: assignment, chore, duty, job, and stint. They can imply a course of action imposed by someone else. I just don't do well being told what to do.
It's funny as a small child my mother would be cooking and ask me to get a can of something or other from the pantry in the cellar. Inevitably, by the time I got to the pantry I had forgotten what it was she had asked for. I think it was the tone of her voice. Ordering me. I couldn't complete the task. I wasn't asked... I was ordered. Subconsciously I had put a block and couldn't hear.
My feet are bad, not made for walking so the answer is yes.
We have an idiom:
If Mohammed doesn't go to the mountain the mountain will come to him!
Thanks for the synonyms.
My mother had a nasty habit of always repeating the same... after she did several times she said: Repeat what I said. At first I could 'dresm it' but her voice...
So as soon as she opened her mouth my ears closed. I could never tell word by word what she said.
Another dutch idiom: oost-indisch-doof (East Indonesian deaf) meaning: you are deaf if it fits you.
@irawandedy you use "dutch deaf" by any chance? You should also leave your comment if it comes to aid.
Wow. So you know what I am talking about. Ears closed as soon as she spoke. lol
Yes, it sounds very familiar to me.
