Stop Talking Start Freewriting
If you don't know what to write about I suggest you to give freewriting with a prompt a try. It's a good way to not only improve your writing style but also try to keep up (while writing) with what you think. I made a habit out of typing in the same rhythm as how I think and that works out a bit weird lately because I start thinking in the rhythm I type and the result is a strange voice in my head (even if I read) so I need to detox.
I give the old laptop a try till my son (you never know) finds a solution for the other (old) laptops (don't ask how old) he is attached to but lay useless around and most likely can't be fixed (no parts available and he intends to make chips himself or find a way to let modern chips work with an old computer - old as in before 2000 - vintage so to say).
Did you notice #wewrite and the lessons?
If you like you can read and follow them and mention me (not that I have no work to do but I am willing to have a look although my notifications consume more time than I like). You might learn something or even better discover your niche. Perhaps you even come to the conclusion that commenting isn't that bad at all and can benefit you. It indeed is time-consuming and I'm the last one who will say this is not the case and since I'm no longer a curator I notice comments are hardly upvoted let alone receive a good upvote. I will not say what the reason is and I like to think I am wrong and it's just me and those I follow who are ignored. Are we curators? Is this the case? Don't we deserve to be upvoted for the hard work we do but are we only good enough to upvote others?
If it comes to upvoting I should stop doing this. I know it's a habit of mine but I don't see the benefits (by the way I already gave up on the high CSI because I go for good or for upvoting those who deserve it and not for 1% to everyone I upvote to generate that high CSI score (yes, I noticed more and more do this which is also a good reason to no longer check it.. Too many know how to fool the system and if it's pointed out !% or 0 or 0% given by a rich fish isn't something to brag about it is ignored or the middle finger is received. So I no longer care and will no longer invest all my time in upvoting with not one but even more than 1 account I work hard for to keep active.).
Let's call this a Sunday Preach although it's not Sunday yet or is a Sunday Tip a better name?
To those who comment and invest time in others, I say: Super, you do this I hope you are noticed and the addressed one has the decency to reply (no, being busy is no excuse we all are busy and I am the most of all. You will be shocked if you see what my days look like. We all have the same time it's a question of priorities and what you are willing to invest. An investment that is in the first place for you and not for someone else.).
#wewrite?
If you check the lessons you can learn something. I like to state it's a course, not a SEC contest you can jump in and do one task to hit the jackpot. It doesn't work like that (it could if you all would invest some time in reading).
The biggest problems of #wewrite are:
- not reading what is asked
- using the hashtags wrong
- believing you know it all
- huge lack of creativity (title, text)
- no idea what a story is
- the inability to make a connection between the lessons (or is this laziness?).
Since I spelt it out I am sure if you jump in today you can be one of the best participants and will not only impress me but also the SCs
Try something new for a change, jump out of that box and show how creative you are.
By the way, there's an Art & Artists community (artists only) you might like to have a look at unless art isn't your piece of cake.
Let's not only write (post) but also #comment
I wish you all a good weekend, happy writing and good health, especially my family and friends, @el-nailul and @irawandedy.
