Survival Kit Alarm

My best friend is upset.

When I hear 'news' it's through her. This time it's time to get an emergency survival kit and cash.
Cash? Isn't that exactly what the government and banks would most like to see disappear? The EU wants everyone to have a digital euro wallet by 2025. The ING bank offered that a few years ago. I'm not that modern and didn't click on the link. I prefer coins and banknotes, although I don't think the king's head is an asset to look at. Fortunately, I know more German, Italian and Spanish, so you can see how far a euro can roll.
I also changed banks right away because I don't appreciate all that meddling from banks. Are they going to send letters (warnings) to customers that they are withdrawing too much money? So what? It would make a big difference if everything became cheaper instead of more expensive (I still convert everything to guilders/Dutch florins and that EU has brought nothing but misery.

My entire family is now with a real online bank where there is no price tag on everything you have to do yourself. It is quite rude to ask for administration costs if you have to do that administration yourself.

I told my girlfriend that I know nothing about this big news and it sounds like provoking a bank run. Something like the toilet paper run when Fauci (a disgusting animal abuser and murderer) could predict exactly when a virus, which has always been good for 60% of flu cases, would conquer the world (it was created by him so easy peasy).
People went to the shops like savages as if you could eat toilet paper. The only thing you can do is wipe your ass and clog the toilet with it! We stayed home. We don't like busy shops and queuing.

This morning the stress continued early. The survival kit from the satirical group "De Speld" (The Pin) that I sent her (bottle of wine, chips...) to shake her up made the alarm bells ring even more.

The government website (she sent the link) was even more ridiculous. After reading the first 3 lines I had seen enough.

"What you need to have in the house if you are without electricity and gas for a few days:

  1. Rice, macaroni... "

I am very curious how that rice will be cooked. If anyone has an idea. It is winter so with sun it will not work. How about a package of mashed potato? Add water or milk and ready to eat.

"2. Three liters of water per person per day."

Nice to get yourself a hernia. I doubt they drink 3 liters of water per person.

You have a tap, fill some bottles, take a rain barrel for the dog and toilet and drink juice, chocolate milk or yogurt drink and eat a bag of chips and if you have eaten right away, I let her know.
In addition, you have a shed with supplies so you will not starve.

After hours of chatter I also sent her my daughter's response when I asked her if she was going to get more cash.
The answer was: I'm not buying anything and I'm not going to get anything extra, not even cash. If there isn't enough cash in the ATM in the new year, people will go crazy. The shops will be smashed to pieces and I'll be robbed.

Buy a camping gas burner with some bottles of gas, I tell my girlfriend. I have one for years.
It's not like she spends all day cooking because her husband is a sourpuss with food and only likes fries, pizza and food from the Chinese-Indonesian restaurant.
More important is how to keep body and limbs warm and occasionally something warm in the stomach is nice when you're in the cold because global warming doesn't seem to be in a hurry. The population of polar bears increased.
Btw, My love gave the tip on how to stay warm this morning. Take a walk in the snow.
Without TV and internet, you can have fun build a snowman or igloo (I'm working on the Ice Queen's palace).

I'm going to look into it more in the new year, was her last reaction.

So it can't be that bad. Rutte Pinocchio, who is now playing the boss of NATO and spreading this news, is stirring up the people but they don't act fast enough. Christmas isn't the best time of the year to break yoir brains about Pinocchio's words, my friend made that clear.

My advice? Use your common sense, buy cookies and chips and eat canned beans or don't eat for a day. You won't die from a day of fasting and without electricity it will be a lot quieter. Agood moment to let the brain rest.
Unlike her I am not going to buy a battery-powered radio to listen to Rutte or the end of the world. I'll read a book or write and can sip wine and sleep more. I've always survived a few days without electricity, and always had food in my "pantry". My grandparents survived the war and made clear to have one no matter how small.

Klaus (WEF) and Bill (knows everything better) have already predicted before, during and after the last lockdowns that they will come up with this. By the way, I still have flour from that time. I'm going to light a fire and bake a cake or bread (nice memory for later as "The Hunger Games" is a fact).

Biggest disappointment of the survival kit:

There is no chocolate in it! Is it only meant for the dying soldier on the battlefield?

... I remember: it must have been a few years ago when in some local mountain region - Austria, Bavaria or Switzerland...? - the inhabitants of a few villages were cut off from the outside world for a while due to heavy snowfall. The access roads were all impassable; the most necessary supplies were organised by helicopter care packages. The students were given time off due to circumstances. It could have been a nice, relaxing time - it was about three weeks or so.

No. Because the mobile phone network had collapsed due to the snow load, there was no contact via social media. No Messenger, no Facebook group, no Tinder date. To my great shock, after two days (!) a drastic increase in emergency calls to suicide hotlines was reported. People were unable to cope with themselves even for a short, manageable period of time. Without words...
