Upright Prarie Coneflower

While the weather here in central Arizona may be miserable (hot and very dry with wildfires popping up) that doesn't mean Mother is idle.
These coneflowers (Ratibida columnifera) also known as Mexican Hat were happily showing off their colors in a dry hillside not far from our home.

A beautiful sight to brighten up a plain roadside. I'll gather the seeds later this season and try establishing them here in my area.
