Richard woke up that day anxious to find the truth about his ancestors. He could not believe that everything his grandfather had told him about his origins was true. He vaguely stated that his race came from ancient warrior men who fought to keep their land when the white invaders arrived in the territory.
Peace had been achieved when the general in charge of the invaders fell in love with the most beautiful woman of that tribe, after they married they had offspring of which his grandfather was part.
So thinking about all this gave him a lot of pride, and gave him a lot of value to his feelings of belonging to that land.
